E3 was a Halloween ep. I called the perp right away. This ep was a bit different because the perp was the puppeteer, not the person who actually did the shooting. Elsbeth was costumed as Breakfast at Tiffany’s, another attempt to make her appear more attractive.

Fell behind on this. On e5 now. A chef murder. It was funny because chefs are funny. The one prior was a jewelry heist which was also funny because the underdog gets away with the goods. Both eps poked fun at the upper class. Maybe that’s what appeals to me in this show. This whole season has taken jabs at the well to do, and Elsbeth is then absurd character who takes them down because she sees the minutiae that betrays the murder. Its satirical side is funny. And the police chief is lightening up.

Xmas ep with Vanessa Bayer. The key clue was a vintage string of Xmas lights. And that was exactly the the same type as our outdoor string - they showed the plastic rack that comes with them for storage. Every year I carefully put our light back using that rack which I attribute for their longevity - well over a decade now. That reminds me - gotta pick up a few more replacement lights - my annual ritual.

A 2-parter - maybe the season finale is next. The perp is the judge.

A murder on the set of a police procedural TV show. Lots of meta jokes - this is the funniest one since the season opener with the opera killer. We both saw the tell right away. And the judge plot continues - it’s the big story arc now and will hopefully conclude at the season finale.

A murder at a yoga retreat. We were both very amused. The cult-like leader was a funny caricature and the sound bath was funny because there’s someone doing sound baths at our new yoga studio every month - she’s done drop ins at a few shavasana sessions to drum (or rather gong) up business. There was also a bit about hallucinogenic frogs which also amuses because of DM’s experience in that realm.

A high class escort suspect who connects with Elsbeth and a new punk nepo detective. Felt like the writers were reaching on this one.

2 more eps in and Tracy Ullmann guests as a psychic. Good to see her again.

A throuple and I side with the Captain in misunderstanding. Plus a funny spin on material minimalism. 

Meanwhile Stacy has rewatched all of The Good Wife and is working her way through The Good Fight. Puts my DS9 escape binging to shame.

Way behind on updating this. The major season arc with Elsbeth’s real life husband came to a brutal close and the new twist is Elsbeth in the slammer with her spirit broken. Starting to wonder when this season might end. It just keeps going.

If that wasn’t the season finale, it should’ve been. Elsbeth encounters many of the perps she busted in the slammer, and of course there’s a murder. All Easter eggs, plus a dream sequence musical number. I guessed the perp using the ol’ most unlikely theorem and got it. A fun ep with lots of self mockery.
