Urk. Sorry about the back. Still one bookstore in the Mission: Dog-Eared Books on Valencia/20th. Really good general bookstore

Went to San Mateo yesterday for some art supplies, mainly large pieces of paper. Stopped at Draeger's in Los Altos on the way back for sandwiches, and I got what I have to say is the best pastrami sandwich I've ever had. It was worth the $19. They make their own pastrami from Kobe beef, so pretty lean, then for condiments use their mayo (and something) spread, avocado, slaw, a few jalapenos and a slice of cheddar. DOOM recommended. I used to think the pastrami sandwich from the Refuge (Menlo Park and San Mateo) was the best, but I think this one beats it.

Draeger’s is a menace to anyone on a diet. Their food is gooooooood.

I really liked that place that was just around the corner from AFS for pastrami. That was one of the meats I didn't get around to during my fall from pescatarian grace around my China trip.
Bummed to hear that legendary Mission book crawl is no more. I know Dog-eared. At least they survived. So few book stores anymore. We're down to three here in the Cruz, Bookshop SC (which is still good), Bad Animal (which is more of a restaurant) and Two Birds books (which I still have yet to check out). There's 2 comic shops in the mall but they don't count.
My back is still knotted, but I've been leaning on my infrared heating pad and that's been helping. I'll probably do a sauna/epson salt bath tonight. Didn't dive into my Rx cache. I might still...

I always wonder - who puts that stuff on the tigers?

Might do some white flower oil. I actually have some special medicinal patches especially for backs from Shaolin, but I tend to react to those ever since my ‘96 tcm cellulitis incident left me hyper allergic to such things. I might give that a shot later when someone’s around that can pull it off quickly if I get a reaction (Stacy was working today so I was alone and tomorrow is a big day - I’ll be on the move). Salonpas gives me a similar reaction - pretty much any of those stick on curatives. But I should really try that Shaolin one.

My back released considerably - still not completely healed but significantly improved. The sauna has been such an improvement in our lives.
Today starts with a monthly review telemeeting. Had a poor month - missed goal by nearly $5k - a major bum out since I exceeded goal by a little less than that last month. Then we have a phone call with our financial advisor - need to roll over some CDs. Then over to svale to check in on mom - after visiting with Stacy’s mom I have new perspective. Then I’m off to Concord for the Marley Brothers. Haven’t been to that venue in over a decade, maybe more. Prolly a lot more. Then back to svale for the night.
Big day.

Your candle, it burns from both ends.

Not to mention the middle. My candle burns. IT BURNS!
...cuz I'm fire!
This morning got off to a shit start with my Mac crashing repeatedly due to some glitch in my PowerPoint. I didn't see any issues online but there was some AI update recently and that took some time to digest. My monthly report is on PP of course. On top of that, our meeting space - gotomeeting - which is like zoom only we pay for its security, just updated. So when I switched to my surface pro to stay on the meeting, it took forever to upload the update. I guess it was an excuse to miss a chunk of the meeting, which isn't a bad thing, truth be told.

I keep telling The Queen to have a Raymond Power Outage™ when she doesn't want to go to a meeting.

Telemeeting #1 done. #2 to go. #3 is canceled.
Today is just work, mostly prep for the weekend and following trip.
Tonight is Iai at the new dojo again.
