Beau is Afraid

Trailer here: http://www.brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomFor...6#pid62166

This movie is a slog. 30 min in you wonder if there's any way to watch at 1.5x or 2x because it's just sloooowwww....

It begins with a troubled birth sequence, from the point of view of the baby, then, a therapy session, then Beau survives the ordeal that is the city, to his refuge in a seedy apartment. It is just endless bad things happen to this person that is already not right in the head. It's told in various sections when usually transition when Beau is knocked out or asleep, and then wakes into a new ring of hell. It ends with a court like drama, not unlike the end of Pink Floyd's Wall, where a prosecutor lays out all Beau's failings in regards to his mother.

And it just ends. Then you look at your watch and are relieved that what felt like 3 hours of your life taken away was actually only 2 hours 59 minutes...

Nathan Lane, Parker Posey, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Richard Kind are some recognizable faces.

Not d00m recommended (except for the battle between the giant penis monster and the ex-solder)
