Working, but visit from former SJSU, former M-Team coach Dino Hinton at the shop. Stanford did a drive-by as well. Their head coach used to fence against me & DM when we were junior fencers. It was a pleasant trip down memory lane, but with stabbing.
The Stab Shack itself was fine.
Now a quick trip to the market and then home.

Who coaches at Stanford now?
Today our sauna was delivered. It's a kit that Stacy ordered. All cedar from Washington - smells wonderful. It was in this crazy crate and thank JAH that my neighbor was able to help. It was a task to get it off the truck, then to break it out of its packing structure, then move the small pieces inside and the large pieces outside, covered for the upcoming storm.
Guess what I'm going to be building soon? My other neighbor said he'd help - we walk his frenchies a lot. He repairs rollercoasters at the Boardwalk, so I'm counting on his tools and skills. We need to coordinate when we can put this together. It's a lot of parts.

Lisa Posthumus took over from her mother, Sherry P.
Not looking forward to weather that they Weather People refer to as “an event”. Apparently we are s’posed to get a “wind event” along with our “rain event”.
Sounds “eventful”.

Of course she did. That's cool, reallly. Keep it in the family.
I have a few svale house chores, then over to my mom for a visit, then home before the 'event', then work and looking up how to build this sauna.
If only I were a carpenter...

I had a student standing by my office door in tears because she couldn't get a locker. I was not able to be sympathetic.

Having a locker was the whole point of being an art student at SJSU. The lockers are big and can hold a skateboard easily.

Two telemeet Thurs (was 3 but the third got cancelled). Stacy is busying herself with sauna construction (we’re hiring some GCs which is a relief because this would take me forever on my own and Stacy is impatient). Then iaido tonight.

An instructor asked me if I found that student a locker because he was concerned because she was so upset and then I felt bad about my lack of compassion - I'm a lousy Buddhist. Turns out there may be some available, so she can dry her tears.
Went to the dentist for a crown this morning. Of course it rained hard on my way. "Oh the dreadful wind and the rain." I was a few minutes late because of traffic from Cupertino High School, which is next door to the dentist. Starting to feel it now. On the plus side, it only cost half of the estimate they gave me.

Emergency run to Oakhurst to rescue the Queen. Her car decided to throw an axle as she left the Fresno Airport.

Bummer. That’s gotta suck after a long trip home.
Today I work, help build our sauna, and mourn the passing of a friend.
