Sorry that I won't see the Yeti. I'll have to make a trip to it's natural habitat.

I think I'm the only person in the building today.

Time for some dental work or just vacationing?

Yoga retreat - so vacation. Offline except for my iPhone here.

But we didn’t get far. We got to San Diego and were turned around because we were on an Alaskan Airline flight that was grounded by the FAA mid flight due to yesterday’s incident. So we now have a layover here at SJC.

Replacement flight delayed another half hour.

We did get a $200 credit for our troubles. Not sure if that’s total or for each.

This sucks.

Travel is exciting! Six hours and you got as far as San Jose.

We splurged on some nachos and massage chairs. Yay vacation!

Still at SJC…

Unfuckingbelievable.

They started boarding and pulled us because the boarding passes and passport clearance we were given upon deboarding weren’t valid. The woman at the counter said she had been paying me but it turned out it was some other Asian name. There was no record of us. We yelling at the counter people and they gave us new seats - separated but we’re on the plane. I’m seated next to a massive Russian woman and her massive husband - originally in between them but we swapped so I’m now by the window.

Fingers crossed that this flight makes it. 3 1/2 hour flight

Vacation. Yay!

“Yesterday’s incident”?

Did you arrive?

Yay, vacation!

Never mind, found it.

Now at LAX with yet another screaming baby. Our journey home has been all about screaming babies.

Just another hour to go here at LAX. We’re at the terminal 5 52a-j which is a remote island away from the rest of the monstrosity that is LAX, so it’s pretty empty & quiet. Stacy is struggling with the cold she caught - tested neg for Covid but it sucks to travel. My hip is done. I’m limping about like a pirate with a peg leg. Already feeling the guacamole & papaya withdrawal.

We are home

Over 12 hours of travel. Should’ve been more like 4-5.

It’s cold here. And my body hurts like hell. My hip is in bad shape.

Today is rest, laundry, and prep for next week’s work load.

Happy MLK day. I used to bitch that Tiger Claw didn’t celebrate when they were 100% minority. Now I’m the only non-white person in YMAA (our IT who died was Chinese).

It’s back to work for me. My throat is dry so I must take care not to contract Stacy’s cold (which she is almost recovered from already).

Tuesday blues.

After work, I was going to head over to visit my mom but I have a slight travel cold (just tested negative for the vid) so Stacy will go over instead. I’ll just work and rest. The weird thing about working from home is I never need a sick day unless I’m really sick which hasn’t happened yet. I still worked when I did have Covid because my case was rather mild (unless you count the shoulder injury which I’m now attributing to long Covid).

I crave papaya & lime…
