Sheltering in Place
Fresh Dwarves don't have a very long shelf life.

Nonsense! Store them in a dark cave like a gemstone mine and they’ll keep for a while.

It’s the nacho booze I’m worried about because the chips wilt.

The dwarves are ready for their close up!

Got very little today. Bailed on yoga. Took the dogs for walkies. Intend to do some Xmas shopping like I’ve intended for several previous days. Maybe write. Maybe laundry. Right now I’m thinking nap despite 2 cups of coffee at Seabreeze (it’s decent diner coffee but not real coffee).

Yes to nap.

Rainy Monday. Need to put work into place for the xmas break this week. There's a tele meeting later. I have a few more errands downtown and possibly Scott's Valley if I get it together. And I should do laundry.

It's going to be a busy week.

Took my car in for service before we drive to San Diego. This one wasn't too expensive, and they had sent me a $100 discount card, which was nice. I decided to walk back to get it, which took longer than I expected (75 mins) and I was in the rain for the last five, although didn't get too wet. I did take an umbrella.

Plus the refund check from my mom's last tax return came. It only took three years. (That was pretty much my fault - she was dying when the return was due, and I unthinkingly sent it back unsigned. It took two years for them to send me a notice about that; I replied, and then it took almost a year for them to send me a form to fill out. After all that, the check came quickly.) Now I can finally close out the bank account and file the dissolution of trust.

Glad that is finally (almost) wrapped up.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

That must be a relief. Anything else outstanding?

Today is crazy busy. I just finished a YMAA telemeet and I must scramble to sort some work tasks. Then I have a telemeet with Laurie Anderson's people, then over the hill in the rain for a meeting with Wells Fukyu (tying up some of my mom's affairs), then a visit to mom, then some grocery shopping, then dinner at a Kung Fu brother's home (which should be lovely as he's a restauranteur and foodie) - he wants advice on how to begin a career as a writer.

Don't you begin your career as a writer by....writing?

That seems like the logical starting point.

Took a rare book to Recycled and got $30 in trade for it, and then went to the bank.

Of course Wells Fargo caused me some trouble. The ATM wouldn't take the check from the US Treasury. WTF? It had my name on it I'm a signer for the account. The teller had to looks something up to verify the check before I could deposit it - but never bothered to ask me for ID. Again, WTF?

That's almost the last thing. Just transfer out our share of the money and write my brother a check. Once it clears I can close the account.

Wells Fargo + Hells Fukyu. I just spent an hour there, still working on getting myself as the trustee on my parents' savings account there. This has been going on since before the pandemic. I hate that bank.

Today it’s work and cleaning house in svale. Then off to my old stomping ground Daly City for a screener of Aquaman (really just an excuse to hang out with Patrick - we had such a blast last time with complementary top shelf drinks and IMAX. I think tonight is 3D.

Solstice! And finally some sun. I'll hit the library bookstore and maybe Rasputin. And paint a little.
