Sheltering in Place
Woo-hoo! Dentist appointment postponed due to hygienist illness. To be honest, I wasn't looking forward to it.

Objective - get home before the storm hits and hunker down. Got until 2 according to my weather app so it shouldn’t be too hard. I’ve got two interviews tonight - authors in Taiwan and Vietnam which is why tonight.

There’s a lot of writing to do so hunkering down for a few days of rain sounds right.

I got a few drops when I went to the post office this morning. San Jose is in the rain shadow so we always get less. Probably not much here until Friday night.

We've had a few sprinkles here. But I think this might be the storm that closes Tioga Pass and the road to Glacier Point.

Yes, the map I saw looked like it will sweep over Yosemite and your area, although I'm not sure what day that was supposed to be. It might be the weekend when the bigger front arrives.

2 telemeets, lotsa writing, iaido but my left hamstring flared up again when I bent down to pick something up (I blame the rain and old age).

So much old.

Didn't anyone ever tell you to bend at the knees?

Do you know how many hours, days, weeks, I've spent in horse stance? That's all about bending at the knees.

It wasn't even anything heavy. I just moved wrong too early in the morning.

We'll see how Iaido goes tonight because it's a lot of rising from kneeling.

Is the answer ten hours? I'm pretty sure it's ten.

Rained much more here than I expected. And was apparently windy. I'll have to go out and sweep the patio later. Then to the post office and the used bookstore, and maybe swing by Rasputin's on the way home.

Ugh. My brain is mush. Where’s my writing muse when I need her? Not to be found right now…

Took the day off. Nice pause in the tournament onslaught. Went to bed around 4:00am woke up at 11:30am. Didn't stir from the cave until 4:00pm. Nice. Finished a book then grabbed a coffee by the stormy ocean and then to Stabbytown.

Ow. Damn. I strained my right shoulder in iaido last night. It was probably from compensating to protect my left hamstring. My katana felt unusually heavy. The 2 week break for Shaolin business cost me and now my body is dominoing into pain. This growing old crap is bullshit.

Today I’m up early for our Q3 meeting (my Q2 & Q3 sucked) then it’s working and writing to get ahead for Sunday and T-day. Then this evening, I’m scheduled to do a podcast with my old friends from Baltimore Knife & Sword, the armorers from Man at Arms: Art of War.

Aging is the best!

I've been dieting and exercising for the longest time. Regular as clock work I've lost about a 1.5lbs a week. Until November. I'm only losing about .5lb or less a week. I guess my metabolism has stabilized and I can't lose as much weight as I've been losing. It's throwing off my goal. Grrrrr.
