My parents liked Lawrence Welk, so we watched it every week (which made the Kristin Wiig and Will Ferrell parody on SNL even better for me) but I don't remember this.

At some point in the last maybe ten years, PBS showed repeats of it. When we were flipping through the channels, we stopped on it, and they had a shot some of the audience dancing, and one of them was Colonel Sanders.

The accordion player at the Italian restaurant on Bascom in Campbell (Buca di Beppo?) always used to play that, but there are words in Italian, with (Italian for) "Quack, Quack, Quack, Quack" instead of the clapping - apparently it's the duck song in Italy
