15: penultimate s1 Ep. Set up with a good reference back to the beginning at the training field, and a Tarkin cameo. The show has been okay overall with a few good moments - mostly Easter eggs - but they will really have to pull out the stops next week to impress me.
Fortunately The Loser Decks s2 starts next week so I won’t be left without my weekly animated half hour Ep.

Oh right! Forgot about that one. Nice!
I'm way behind in my vid queue. The Olympics sucked up a lot of viewing time and the screeners are rolling out now.

S1 finale. Meh. The fall of Kamino. A chapter of the Star Wars saga that I really didn’t care about. I enjoyed the Easter egg characters sprinkled through the series but that was about it. The Bad Batchers were cliche and Omega failed to capture my interest.
I’ll probably watch s2 bit my expectations will be low.

S2e1&2: When they say 2 ep premiere here, it really means one long ep (these eps are like 25 mins each). Wanda Sykes is introduced and she looks pretty much like she looks irl. It’s a passing character but likely to come into play later. The batch go to recover Count Dooku’s war chests after his fortress was abandoned but there are stormtroopers there already. The mission goes awry, but the batch manages to save themselves.
I’m having issues with Omega’s blaster bow. She draws it like a bow and there’s a light string that gets pulled, then she releases an arrow of blast. It’s weird, and like Cbewie’s crossbow, why is it the only one?
I was heartened to see Dooku’s throne room again, even if it was in shambles. And I never liked Dooku. He didn’t make sense until Clone Wars.

E3: An outlier ep because it follows Crosshair, the odd member of the bad batch who stayed loyal to the empire after order 66. Like the rest of the batch, he’s a mutated clone. So he’s not really ‘bad’ like the rest of the batch. He’s good in the empire’s eyes. But the empire is bad so I don’t know what that makes him. But he gets to wear black stormtrooper armor and has a tattoo of crosshairs over one eye lest you forget his name. His skill? He can hit what he shoots unlike most stormtroopers. In fact, he’s a crack shot, a lone range sniper that can toss a reflective disc in the air and hit it so the blast richichefs around corners to strike his target.
This ep marked the return of a great clone wars rebel, Tawni Ames, governor of Desix, and stormtrooper Cody who served under Obi-wan. It’s a solid Clone Wars nod. Most of the ep is a fortress siege led by Crosshair & Cody against Tawni and her squad of droids.

E4: A pod race! No, no, some other kind of race where racers can blast each other. Cid drags Tech, Omega & Wrecker along. There’s a cocky droid racer. It goes the way all race stories go, a loss, double or nothing, a major impediment, then a narrow victory.
This was a filler ep and did nothing to forward the overall story. Cid is voiced by Rhea Perlman btw, and her character is short, loathsome and ugly with the last name of Scaleback. She’s my least fav character.

E5 a treasure hunt! Wanda Sykes’ character returns and with her filling in for Trevor, I at first thought it was too much Wanda for one week, but this was a fun ep. The mcguffin was amusing and likely significant in some obscure clone wars lore - I’ll have to catch some fandom site like Den to explain it to me.

E6 Padawan Gungi! This is the wookie from Clone Wars, under Ashoka. It was good to see a light saber in TBB, even if they called it a laser sword. There’s a lot of wooks in this ep. When I first turn this on, the language setting was in Spanish but it was a lot of aliens and droids talking so I just figured it was a subtitle only situation. Took me a minute to realize it was Spanish. Did you know that wooks speak shyriiwook? I know this now because that’s what the subtitles said.

E7 didn’t have the batch at all. It was all on Corusant in the galactic senate. Kinda annoy because if I wanted to watch senate proceedings, nothing beats the absurd reality of our govt rn. At least Bail Organa made an appearance.
E8 season finale? Not much was resolved in the major story arc. Captain Rex comes in and breaks up the batch by taking Echo.
This season had its moments but it wasn’t stellar. Still not fully onboard with it but it’s fresh Star Wars to watch.

E8 was not the finale - it was a season break
E9-10 was a two parter about mining. It was alright - somewhat of a side adventure that went to some new places.
E11 was BB’s spin on alien. It wasn’t great but it brought Kamino back in play. Only 2 Kaminoans survive - the lead clone scientist and a government leader. I suspect this story arc will lead to the agenda of this season.

E12: Part one of a Crosshair story. Actually made me sympathize with the plight of clones. Intriguing cliffhanger. The nurse reminded me faintly of Omega, which made me ponder the potential of more female clones.
