One of Stacy’s yoga instructors died. She was in her 70s but incredibly fit. She led yoga retreats in Bali twice a year and had fun like 70 of them. Stacy was considering doing one. Anne studied under Mr Iyengar in India and came home via Bali and decided to hold retreats there. She was there when she died - heart failure in her sleep.

Stacy got the call yesterday from her brother. They had another sister who passed to cancer recently. There will be a memorial of her students (she lived and taught privately here in the Cruz).

She was mentioned in the book Eat, Pray, Love. I never met her.

Does Stacy still teach?

No. She stopped teaching long ago, a few years after Tara was born.

My gmail got wacked. A ton of deleted emails resurfaced, mixed in with the filed emails, all in my inbox. There's like 1500+. I can't tell if I've lost files but it messed up several conversations I was having.

I hate merc.

One of our dog park friends is shopping for a new car. Why? Her husband was driving near a construction site last week and one of the construction cranes collapsed and smashed the passenger side of their car. He wasn’t hurt at all but the car was totaled because repairs were like 3x it’s value.

Sounds like a destruction crane.

Not that I was there to see it, but he sounds damned lucky.

I blame DM.

We've had this wonky circuit in the kitchen. The microwave and the toaster are on the circuit and you couldn't use both at the same time. I keep thinking we are in the 21st century but this circuit thinks otherwise. When it was really hot here during the last several weeks, I had to put a blanket over the circuit panel to insulate it from the heat. The microwave was kicking the breaker every late afternoon when the sun shone directly on the panel.

Yesterday, the circuit just gave up all together. It doesn't matter how many times you reset the breaker, there is not juice to those plugs. Fortunately the neighbor is a commercial electrical contractor.

Don't have to worry about stupid circuit breakers when the power goes out for the second time this weekend. Sunday night's blackout was a pain as we didn't quite have everything set up for the darkness. I spent a couple hours reading with a book light. Fortunately the power came back on just in time for bed.

I was in my telemeets today when the interview opportunity to interview Rajamouli came over. Coordinating this involved 2 of my editors, 2 agents in India and 1 in the UK. Meanwhile, there was a web issue at YMAA that delayed our last telemeet, and then there was two issues at KFM, my remote email crashed and I was asked to promote a tournament promo (for Chris Pei, who Greg knows) but registration closed two days ago.

Just a week and a half more...

The nice man came to fix the circuit breaker. He was a talker. He had stories. He also had ten dogs seven of which were Australian Shepherds. He brought two of them with him on the job. He also had a million grand children.

Turns out, it wasn't the circuit breaker. It was a mystery problem. The best kind of problem said no one ever. He had to start taking apart the plugs to find a specific wire. He finally found it on about the fifth plug. Whoever had installed the plug had screwed up the wiring and wires were slipping off in the plug. And the plug was starting to crumble. The whole job took about ninety minutes. And for this, he charges us $100. I thought it was going to be a lot more. We got the friends rate. He know my neighbor, Heath. Heath gave us his name.

Been wrasslin with work issues - a coworker set up this program and changed how it was presented midstream so our IT failed to upload it (he's suffering from some terrible illness that he's keeping confidential - we just know he's been very sick) and this morning that initial coworker was like 'where is it?' and I was like 'I dunno - you changed the presentation and jammed up our IT guy) meanwhile I'm dealing with sending files to my mom's doc and had to convert all of those from HEIC to JPEG because at first there was no upload link but after finally getting it, it wouldn't take heic.

And then Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting comes on the radio. And it's all good.

I don't know what the deal is with HEIC. Why have a file format that's only for the phone? My photos app converts them to JPEG when exporting, but that's not true for everyone. It's a nuisance.
