Marie Kondo for guys: “Do you really think you will ever actually repair this?” or “Do you really think that some day you will need a brass light socket for an Korean War era USN Destroyer Escort?”
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

Saw a commercial for The Northman. Try to make that one if you can. It looks like a hot mess. And Nicole Kidman is in it. And Bjork plays a witch. And swords.

Yeah, I applied. All of those factors play in. You could bait a DM trap with Nicole+Bjork+swords and he's sure to swallow the bait whole.
Plus I'm in a bit of a Vikings groove after Vikings: Valhalla.
That's next week. In a surprise move, the screener is in Berkeley, which will give me an excuse to head up there and maybe pay a call on an old friend.
Still waiting to hear about TUWoMT... It's scheduled on an advanced roster so I know the date and that it's planned for SF but that's all.

Nope. Did it ever come out?
I'm way behind on my Nic Cage flicks. Last one I saw was this:

And there was this:

There's a few in my queue.
I do like Nic.

Prisoners of Ghostland was released back in September. It started airing on Shudder in November.

I am an Old. I admit it. (Cable did sound odd when I typed it. I've had Directv since it first came out)

Been burned too often by George R. R. Martin, always waiting forever between reads. So I've learned my lesson and will wait for Cage's sporadic output to build up to a proper stream that is worth climbing into.

The Essex Serpent
Advanced reviews on The Northman are singing its praises. Now I'm excited and creating a new indie thread.

The Essex Serpent (book) got a number of good reviews, but I never got around to reading it.
