I've been meaning to post this here. Because I'm the psych supervisor for Rock Med, I get fellow vols reaching out with their psychological issues. It's kinda weird because I only play a psych counselor at concerts, but there you have it.
This was from a vol that I haven't seen or had contact with in 5+ years. She sent it right after T-day

She thinks there is nothing wrong with her and we do not understand. When you ask her who she thinks hacked her she mentions a company she used to work for. I jsut do not know what to do. Prior to COVID my sister was a healthy, active person. No each day she is significantly worse. We need to nip this in the bud as soon as possible. Please help!
I'm sharing this for no real reason other than to reinforce the impact of the pandemic in my circles. We've been in communication, and her sister is now on a 7 day psych hold for 'delusional disorder', and her mom is with her.

We handed out cookies to the neighbors yesterday. At one house, the Queen made the mistake of asking how our neighbor had been. She told us. Her car had died. She had Covid. And she had a miscarriage a week ago. It's possible the Covid might have caused the miscarriage. We think they might not be vaxxed due to the giant Trump banner they hang from their fence. Either way, it was very sad.

A martial arts friend Harry Mok just got hospitalized for covid. I'm not sure if you ever met him Greg, or any of you who came to TCEC. He was at some of them. He was the buff shirtless gong ringer at our 10th anniversary gala. A truly gung ho practitioner. His social media is getting flooded with prayers and well wishers.

Yeah, I'm not sure you would've noticed him. He's a little older than me I think and in great shape. Srsly buff. He's a tough dude, always has some crazy scheme going on. One of my favs was when he was developing a new sport that fused martial arts, mini trampolines and basketball. I can't remember what he called that but he was convinced (or trying to convince everyone else) that it was going to be the next big thing. Nice guy tho. Full of Ohana spirit.
I texted G2 & Jonny. G2 texted back that she hoped it wasn't serious. I replied that he is in the hospital, and with covid now, that's serious.
Another Omicron issue (actually I don't know if Harry has the variant): I was invited to Bill's Bash, which is an annual private party held at the Mo for old BGP and APE staff. It's the bastard child of the amazing Xmas parties Bill Graham used to throw for his crew. I haven't been invited in a few years, and I'm not sure why I made this list this year, so I was rather looking forward to it. But as Omicron loomed, I was torn. The Mo would be indoors and I'm not doing anymore of that for a while. But they just postponed it. So I no longer need to decide.
At the same time RM has been begging for crew to man Kaskade for NYE at BGP. That's a nope. Wobbleland comes up soon after, which is an EDM I like, but I'm thinking that'll be a nope too.

I was worried when we were in Bakersfield. My brother in law took us to an ice cream shop that his friend's grandmother used to own, and no one, including staff, had a mask on. In San Diego it was maybe 50% wearing. My niece and nephew took their small children to church on Christmas eve, which I would never have done. Later my niece asked if the cousins coming to Christmas dinner were vaccinated, so I asked her why it mattered since she had already taken the kids to church. She didn't appreciate that.
Fortunately we both tested negative when we got home today.

Yeah, Omicron is looking pretty tough. One homeless shelter went from 10 positives to over 40 in 2 days.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

My friend Harry is off the ventilator but still on O2 and hospitalized. There’s a gofundme - his ask is $80k.

According to California law, gift certificates can't expire. But then, masks are mandated by law too, so that might not mean much.

I should mention that Harry has raised about $30K of his $80K ask.
Here's the trailer for Animal Crackers. At 2:18 you can see Harry Mok is credited as a producer. The film did okay for what it was I'm told. I never did watch it.
