In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

Ah, yes.  Giant spider movies.

Tarantula (1955): A scientist is experimenting in his desert laboratory with techniques to use radioactive food to make giant animals.

Earth vs. the Spider (1958) – Teenagers find a giant tarantula in a cave. They defeat it with the help of their high school science teacher and rock and roll music.

583: Kung Fu, wash Yuki’s paws, take him to the dog park. Might go shopping - there’s a store closure of the outdoor world I’d like to see, plus I should look for Halloween stuff and I could use a fresh bottle of whiskey.

I was going to work to make up for missing yesterday, but we have Monday off for Columbus Day, a holiday I don’t observe, so I’ll make up for it then.

Take sleep aid tomorrow night.

Got a decent night’s sleep last night thanks to melatonin. I did make it to the mall but Outdoor World has a ‘closed forever’ sign. Missed it. First time I’ve been there since the pandemic and it has changed dramatically - so many shuttered stores and the open ones had minimal stock. Hit the Spirit store which has taken over the abandoned Sears space and there was a pitiful collection of stuff. Those supply chain issues are plainly evident. The Halloween decor was nice adding to that sense that it was a ghost town.

584: Work day. Need to make up for Friday.

585: YMAA observes Columbus Day but I do not. Neither do my other jobs. There were fireworks to the south of me last night (Tola maybe?) and I couldn’t figure out why. Tara is supposed to come down to visit and do laundry.

It must be nice having the Cub closer.

Yes it’s great. Plus she doesn’t have a lot of friends in SF yet and is only working part time so she’s fairly available. I project that’ll change soon.

I thought I knew Wordpress too but Live Editor has been obstinate. It keeps failing to give me proper options or do what it says it'll do (like changing font size - simple things). Coupled with that is the adjustment to Mac from PC. And it's painstakingly slow, which is frustrating when it doesn't even do what I ask.

I just realized that Chrome is a better server to use than Safari for it. It shows more functions. What do you use?

I use safari. I do most of the stuff on the back end. And I try to use the Divi plugin because that makes my life easier for creating websites. I used Divi to put the Stro website together.

My wordpress issues seem to lie in my service - not enough upload speed. Looking into upgrading but was confounded by my mom’s account which is in my email and our account which is in stacy’s email, coupled with xfinity’s horrid site.

587: Telemeeting, then going over a lot of paperwork with my mom (oh joy) then home for more work.
