Unusual Covers
#61
I think they have about twenty covers of "Nothing else Matters" done for the deluxe reissue of the black album.

Heh, The Mermen…

First time I saw them, I was really impressed that Jennifer played a bass with a whammy bar. I heard somewhere that her (great or great great) grandfather wrote Auld Lang Syne. (That would make her a descendant or Robert Burns) She also wore super tall elevator shoes and was working the Wah-Wah pedal.

I was a Moe’s for a Bombino show. After the first band, during the break, I had a long chat with the guitar player (he had a shaved head at the time…look at his hair in this video). I told him that the Blue Man Group album “Audio” was one of the best surf albums of all time.

The Blue Man Group was at LiB. I thought they were cosplayers but then read that they were there in the pamphlet.

The Shi-tones (or is it the "Shit-Ones"? members of the Mermen...) played a free patio show of all instrumental covers at Seascape Resort yesterday. I didn't make it up, but someone posted a video of their second set to Facebook.

I think this cover is all about the video...

Here's the original for context (I love that he plays the cello like a bass):

I love The Dead South
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.
