Still vibrating like hell
My tinnitus goes to 11
Such a wonderful experience. I so needed that festival fix. Hope it was safe...
Dammit. Wrong thread again
I’ll sort this all out later...

I'm the only one at this, for better or worse.
Pretty fuzzy today. Vision blurry. Head still ringing, body still vibrating.
My mouse needs a charge so I'm waiting for that before launching into work. Took a hot bath, made myself a nice eggs scramble, started laundry, listening to a radio reggae show.
I had some summary thoughts, but they're eluding me now.
Highlights - Lily Meola (primacy effect perhaps), Mavis Staples, Cage the Elephant, TURKUAZ.
Most distinct visual image - butt bee sting.

I should explain this.
This came out when I started working on Man at Arms.
As I was driving home from the airport after my first time in LA for the show, this song came on several times across several radio stations. Exhausted, it completely resonated with me and has always held a special spot in my heart ever since. Hearing it live brought me right back to that whole El Rey experience. What a journey that was. Given my level of exhaustion at any given festival on day 3, I'm particularly vulnerable - emotionally raw and exposed after the massive inundation of stimuli - so when this song came on, it hit me like a hammer again. It's moments like this that keep me addicted to the music scene. It's playing the soundtrack of my life. And when on of the bigger hits replays, everything comes into perspective and it feels alright.

There was this cute RM nooB gal whose parents dropped by to see her at my Jam Table. It was super cute. She's in her early 20s, bright and strong, and we've chatted quite a bit. Her dad was wearing a Fare The Well lDead & Co shirt, so I struck up a conversation about that. He wanted to know how many shows I'd seen and I shrugged and told him I worked for the band. Apparently her folks were quite impressed by me. She mentioned this as I was noshing some nachos because her mom is apparently a fellow nacho connoisseur, and was considering starting a blog called 'Nacho Mama'.
Made me feel old. Here's this bright eyed young gal but I'd probably have more fun hanging with her parents.

I'm amused that the Marley brothers split. Cali Roots got Damien & Steven. BR got Julian & Skip. Cali FTW there.

See anything you like? Now cover the other eye. How about now?
Srsly tho - any acts catch your eye in the fine print? Didn’t you recommend Turkuaz to me? That was the best act of the weekend. Not that I’ll be there this year, but I’m just curious.

I like the Silversun Pickups album I have, but it's got to be 10 years old by now...No idea if they are good.
I've heard good things about Fantastic Negrito, but I haven't taken the time to check him out...
Nothing else in that lawyer print seems interesting.

Seen Silversun Pickups.

I’ve grown to enjoy their pop radio tunes.

Think of this as your annual eye check up and old folks pop music test (it's actually a decent line-up IMO - there's a few acts I'd check out. But I won't be at BR again in 2023.

Here you go, DM. Another chance to be led on and then disappointed by Stevie.
