Sheltering in Place
448: Mondays... I just dealt with a YMAA report for PGW. The other publicist is terrible at formatting and doesn't quire grasp podcasts. She sends me these reports to review and I have to completely rework them. Note that she's also the bossmang's mom. She's also the only bit of nepotism in the company, which is a far cry better than Tiger Claw or WLE, so that's actually refreshing. Anyway, it's done, but there are a few more tasks lined up, including another Zoom interview after lunch.

I didn't finish my Den report yesterday either but I should be able to finish it today. I got a bit ahead on KFM so I should be good to go there. I didn't get any trip prep done yesterday either.

Tomorrow I have to take my mom to her doctor at midday which will jam up the rest of the day's work, so I need to prep for that.

449: Most of today was dedicated to my mom's in-person check up. That went well. She's in decent health overall, considering her age. I finished my Money Heist submission with my editor and sorted some YMAA & KFM biz and just watched that John Oliver feature on Asian Americans - it was nothing new for me but hopefully it unpacked some of the Model Minority issues for those who didn't know.

I recently turned down my first offer from Den because I've just been too busy. They asked me to do an interview and screener for the upcoming Batman: The Long Halloween, but I don't have the bandwidth this week, not with our San Diego trip looming. Sounded like fun but I had to decline.

451: Hella busy today. On top of my two telemeets & Kung Fu, I must sort my work load for the next few week, reschedule my mom’s dentist, get Yuki his first grooming, but mostly, prep for the trip tomorrow.

Good luck. Congratulations to the Cub.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

453: The mission over the next few days is to enjoy San Diego, and do a little work in the corners so it doesn't count as vacation.

And a hat - I'm sure your hair is thinning like mine, although probably not as much.

Stacy has packed some Blue Lizard SPF 30. And we both brought our UCSD hats, presented to us at Family Weekend for Tara's freshman year. Not sure if we'll wear them though. Both of us in matching baseball-style lids is weird. Stacy has alternate hats. I still have some sun repelling hair - sure, it's black with just a touch of gray, but I've got tropical blood and a decent farmer's tan from hours spent at the dog parks.

Security is very strict for this. We're a tad concerned about how we will transport Tara's leis. We have to meet her outside and be escorted in through a rigorous security check. I've already disarmed my EDCs and feel a bit nekkid, but it'll be okay.

455: spend day with new grad. It’s her day off and she wants to show us her latest discoveries of SD.

457: It just occurred to me that the ‘sheltering in place’ title of this thread is t appropriate while on the road. Plus sigh restrictions lifting, hopefully the end of this thread is near. But I’m still attached to the daily tally because the pandemic completely changed my life.

Stacy left about half an hour ago, hoping to dodge LA traffic. She’s taking phoebe home.

I have a YMAA telemeet at 8, then I’ll head up to Tara’s to pick up a few boxes of books to take home for her so she doesn’t have to move them later. I have Yuki. I hope to leave SD around 11 and plan to take the coast back.

Well crap. My meeting was cancelled. I wish they had warned me because I would have played out today completely differently. Now I'm in a holding pattern until the commute subsides.

Stacy said the coast is really slow due to construction. She's moving much more slowly than anticipated and advised to take the 5 and cut over to Paso Robles. Maybe I'll just follow my iPhone. I'll probably end up in Colorado that way.
