I've got twelve left to go. Some of the festivals have pushed their selection dates until late August which prolongs this, but I'm not counting on them. I'm kind of focusing on Tribeca as the end point for actively paying attention to the festival circuit. Tribeca is mid-April. After that, I'll put the film up on a streaming service so everyone can see it.
After that, I really need to come up with a new project to do. So far the well is pretty dry. Although Scapino did text me he wants to do a Doc about a friend of his in Venice who makes Carnival masks. I told him to send me the check when he's ready.

Yep. It's professional. Not pro-bono.

Happy Validation Day. Here is hoping I get good new from the Northwest Documentary Film Festival.
To be fair, the only people that have streamed the film this week are in Lodz, Poland.

No validation for Stro from the Northwest Doc FF. I also got a note from Film Freeway saying they screwed up in sending the notifications from SF. Still not validated but at least now there is a note to prove it.

Today, the Tribeca Film Festival decided they didn't want Stro either. Which means I can now make public the fact you can see Stro on Amazon Prime. It's been on there for a couple of weeks but I didn't want to announce it for fear of running afoul of Tribeca's entrance policies.
What happened was I put the film on a distribution platform called Filmhub back in February. Filmhub then markets the film to all the streaming services. They take 20% of the profits from the distribution. Before I knew it, the film was on Amazon. I still had festivals to attend and festivals don't like it if you have streaming deals. I was going to take it down or at least delay it until I read that Amazon was no longer going to allow documentaries like mine on their service. I thought it would be bad not to be on Amazon so I didn't do anything and waited to hear word from the festivals. They've all said no, so I'm good. Although there are still a few still out there but none of them are as important as Tribeca.
So, the film is available on Amazon. It's also on Tubi and Plex, two platforms I know nothing about but they are making Stro: TMDS available to their viewers.

Top Billing!!!!!
Think of it as a “prequel” to DM & The Yeti!
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

I just watched Stro again. It gave me the feels.
Great work, Greg. Honored to have been a part of it.
And heartily amused by the billing.

I think when I signed up for Film Hub and was going through all the forms, there was a spot for actors. I left that segment blank since, obviously, no actors. Film Hub wouldn't have it so I just put in DM to appease the Film Hub Gods. So, don't think of it as star billing, think of it as me trying to get a form to load.
