One of my good friends at TC tested positive. He was just feeling oddly tired and got tested. However, he went into work afterwards and when his results came back, the office had to shut down for a week. They just reopened. My friend is doing okay. He's always been tough - the warehouse leader.
Just prior to the CA office closure, the TN office closed because it had four cases. The suspicion is that they let it spread because they weren't as good about masking and sanitizing. The CA office is 2/3rds azn so masking has never been a thing. They masked prior to the pandemic when someone had a slight cold or allergy issues.

Three friends tested positive.
One is on the other side of the country and just got out of ICU. He's home resting.
Two are local (SF). One of the two is old skool BGP. He and his wife were both hospitalized. She went home. He hopes to go home very soon. The other is an old skool RMer. She just got it. I think she's home, self quarantining.

My good friend and biz partner tested positive. Very scary as he takes the same precautions as I do. Masks up whenever outside, but unlike me, stays in a lot. He’s got it mild so far. Hope to keep it that way. Waiting to see if his wife comes down with it. He’ll be out of Covid Jail on Sunday if his symptoms stay this mild with no fever.

My grand niece just tested positive. No sense of smell. Her hubby likely caught it too, but was asymptomatic except for losing 12 pounds. Oddly, my grand niece was peeved at him because she didn't lose weight like that. Not that she really needs to. A joke, I think. My grand niece works in some sort of beauty parlor. They take what precautions they can, but obviously there can't be six feet of separation.
My whole clan back there in Indiana is, thankfully, taking covid very seriously, and were shocked and concerned when she tested positive. However, I dare not ask about the vaccine. I very much doubt that most will get it when available. You know, a Jehovah's Witness thing.

Got the Moderna first shot. Not through Kaiser but through a temp community testing setup at Rengstorff Park. I think I was lucky in scheduling an apptmt. Even then, the line was at least a hundred people long, with six feet separation. The sheer effort of organizing and processing people through boggles the mind. Took about an hour. When we left (LCF drove me, didn't get the shot), the line was just as long if not longer.

Let us know how you feel. I’m hearing shot #2 can be rough, like a 24 hour flu. Marc Velez got sick for a day and was texting me a blow by blow. Some other Med friends have had similar issues.
Tomorrow is my mom’s first shot.

Tomorrow is my mom’s first shot. I was wondering whether you'd gotten your mom in for a shot. I knew you'd been pursuing it. Hope it all goes smoothly.
I'm scheduled for the second dose on March 9. Ill let you know if it makes me hallucinate strange stuff, like seeing LCF on the TV.

My mom’s shot is going very smoothly. We got straight in and she’s now in that waiting period to see if there’s any extreme reactions. Already set up shot #2 for next month.

We're home. It went very well. We were impressed.
My mom is feeling fine so far. Her second dose is Mar 10.
In related news, Stacy go this notification from her certifying org CAMTC:
“Massage Therapists are considered Alternative Medical Practitioners. They may receive their vaccine under Phase 1a, tier 3.
Everyone keeps telling me that I can get a vaccine because I'm my mom's caretaker but I'm not a certified caretaker so that's not true - it's annoying.

I just heard this headline:
https://hightimes.com/news/california-ne...e-rollout/
Quote:Those working in California’s medical cannabis industry are now eligible for the COVID-19vaccine, under new guidelines issued last week by the state’s department of public health.
Those workers are included under Phase 1A, the highest priority tier for the coronavirus vaccination, a “clarification” the agency said was necessary due to “to overlapping definitions in the Health Care and Public Health and Food and Agriculture Essential Workforce definitions.”
The department says that Phase 1A eligibility includes individuals “at risk of direct patient exposure in settings” that are included under California’s essential workforce list.
This “includes both clinical and non-clinical roles,” according to the department of public health, along with “workers who come into direct contact with the virus through research, development, manufacturing or testing are included” and “workers who are manufacturing vaccine, therapeutics, devices, supplies or personal protective equipment supporting the COVID-19 response.” It also includes long-term care residents.
In its clarification issued last Thursday, the department said that cannabis industry employees are now included in 1A, while those involved in “food and agriculture for growing, production, storage, transport and distribution” are now included in Phase 1B.
Phase 1B includes individuals aged 65 and older, as well as those working in education and childcare, emergency services and food and agriculture.
“Medical cannabis workers should be accommodated as necessary in Phase 1b, Tier 1, by nature of their designations in eligible essential workforce classifications,” the department said in the guidance.

PS: My mom (80+) has Kaiser and apparently they do not have supply to even schedule her yet.

Side effects thus farl
Tender arm in vicinity of shot stretching into third day.
Lower back and stomach a little wanky two days in -- or I'm just imagining it.
When I took socks off for bed last night, my calves were noticeably swollen. I think there's some water retention going on.
I've read that it takes about 14 days before the vaccine starts providing protection.
