SFIndieFest SUCKS
srsly, i've been invited to attend as 'press' every year. been tempted but nothing in the line-up ever seemed kfm relevant.
i'm sure if STRO got in, they wouldn't invite me.

Ha! We'll see. This is the second rejection from them. They also run SF Docfest. I asked them beforehand if the same programmers ran both and was assured they had different programmers for each festival. I tried again because I really want to stream Stro in a SF festival.

Sure. Now you tell me.
I was excited this morning to find the number of views of Stro over on Vimeo ticked up over night, reversing the downward. I hoped that someone famous in Oaktown had seen it. But no. It was somebody in Milan taking a peek at the film. They didn't finish. I don't have any festivals coming up in Milan.....

Yep, another conversation with a Film festival Director that has only left me more confused.
I entered the 4th Dimension Film Festival. They are out of Bali. Yes, they gave me a discount code. And I thought it would be fun to subject the Balinese to Stro. While reading their updates on their page, I noticed a discrepancy between what was on their website and what was on Film Freeway. FF said they were going to notify by Dec 23 and have their screening on Dec 29. Their website and twitter feed reports they would have their festival on Dec 23. I reached out to their Director on Twitter through Direct Message (The other DM) and asked for clarification.
Fiona, the director running the account, asked if I had submitted. I said yes. I also said yes three messages before that in the Twitter DM feed. But no matter. Fiona said I was in but I was in for next month or something. Except there is no listing for a different month only this one. I attempted to clarify by asking if the Film Freeway notification date was still good, ie I would be told on Dec 23. I wasn't given a firm answer about that but Fiona had just spoken with the panel and she would tell me earlier. She then wished me a Happy Christmas and signed off.
So, yes, more confused than when I started. I'll hear soon but I don't know for what. Fiona also told me to ring back if there were any problem.

Curious. Someone watched the entire film yesterday in San Jose. Could have been DM who threatened to do that. I don't think it's DM's big celebrity because he is up in Oakland. I hope it's Cinequest because they have to get around to deciding soon.

Wasn't me. Doubt it was Sunny.
Fingers crossed for Cinequest.

I actually might have to show some excitement if I get selected to Cinequest.

So, Stro:TMDS has been accepted into the 4th Dimension Film Festival out of Bali as a nominee. It's another two stage acceptance policy. They will make an official selection from the nominees to screen. This has to be soon since they screen, I believe, on Wednesday.

My cynicism has taken a blow. Stro: TMDS will be screening this week in a real live cinema as part of the 4th Dimension Film Festival in Paradiso, Ubud, Bali.
Go figure.
