Sheltering in Place
Heading out to Lewis Creek for a hike.

Fuck. My car won’t start. Stacy took it to companion to pick up some goods and it completely died on her.  I’ve brought her the funkmobile (which still isn’t registered because of dmv covid delays) and am waiting for aaa with Darth.

Darth needed a new battery. That's about right. He's a 2016 and been on his original battery. Good thing that didn't die on us last week with our Mammoth>Raymond trip.

AAA rocks. It's the only insurance that we carry that really works.

255: Today is solid writing. I plan to finish up those 4 submissions for YMAA & Den, plus there will be a little for KFM. I’m staying in svale so to be with my mom tomorrow for Tday. I don’t observe Tday but she does. So it’s telework from Svale. The bulk of her chores were done yesterday.

All 4 articles are done. I'll give them one final polish before submitting them - probably on Black Friday. I could actually take tomorrow off. Wow.

But I probably won't.

Gwan, take the day off!

And do what?

I don't do T-day. It's just not my thing. Hasn't been for years.

256: I'm going to do my mom's remaining chores and have T-day lunch with her. I got her some turkey with veggies and mashed potatoes, one of those prepped meals I got at Sprouts. I got myself a  salmon and quinoa meal.

Then back to the bungalow. Then take Yuki for a walk and binge some more Cobra Kai

Enjoy your Native American massacre day.

Go to the beach with the dog. Go on a walk with the wife. Stay in bed all day. Start drinking now, don’t stop until Friday morning.

I did have a nitecap (night swigs) already. Working on a bottle of brandy that was in my dad’s liquor cabinet. I’m not a brandy guy. And I had my nite cheese.

Dog walk is something I do almost every day now. Sometimes to the beach. Sometimes with Stacy (although we take turns giving each other breaks from that frenetic puppy energy because in our 50s there’s only so much we can take). Bed all day would be boring. Besides I’m in svale now and have to get back to the Cruz before curfew.

I'm kinda taking today off so far (despite my being leery of yeti advice). Not going to write. Just going to tend to my mom's chores, surf the web, and watch Cobra Kai

Had pumpkin pie for breaky. woohoo. Livin large today.

No...wait! I'm watching Cobra Kai for work. It's for some articles so I have to take notes. Dammit.

Watching the Macy’s parade with my mom. The lip synching always bugs me. They should just all mask up. It would send a good message.

I’m remembering when I was in the SF Chinese New Year parade. That was such a wild experience. Wish I had pix but that was so long ago, before smart phones.

I dunno bout this not working stuff. Kinda boring...

Watched a bit of the parade. Most of the singers were outside my media orbit and unknown to me. I had never heard of the new cartoon character (balloon) from YouTube either.

And pitching the Goo Goo Dolls as big rock stars was a bit of a stretch I thought.

I feel ya with goo goo

I just wanted to say that.

I liked the broadway stuff and the rockettes. Somehow the masked rockettes in uniforms with leg covering slacks and and masks worked better for me. Dolly was so Dolly. Pentatonix were okay. There were some singers wearing masks, which was cool.

It’s a weird thing - a parade of ads - a peek into pop culture that’s like you say, often out of my media orbit.

257: Black Friday and Bruce Lee's 80th birthday. I spent the morning doing some online slinging for TC - only marginally tho. They've never done much for the whole Black Friday/Cyber Monday thing (don't ask me why - I've never understood that) and without me pushing them, they did even less this year. It was just the online tournament, which I set up to grab eyeballs, but they've done nothing to coattail on that.

I know...let it go.

Today, I'll set up my TC handmedown PC. Maybe do some final polish on those articles. Maybe watch more Cobra Kai. Maybe watch something else too. Take Yuki for a walk. I should get dressed at some point.
