It's my martial arts world
That's right. Post away. The joy DM feels when posting a link from years ago about that you found yesterday, gives him such dark pleasure.

So...the free Carmel Magazine is a quarterly, high gloss tome of what restaurants to visit and which galleries to go for your bronze Arnold Palmer statue. I grabbed a copy the other day because of the b/w Hendrix photo on the cover. Poking through the magazine which among other things features an article on yoga/parenting-up in covid times by Eastwood wife and former local TV News anchor Dina Ruiz, I came upon this add for "The Carmel Samurai Company"

https://www.e-digitaleditions.com/i/1283...020/161?m4=

This seems so scammy! How do we extract $$$ from rich folks in Carmel.

"We have never advertised. We have no website. Publish no phone number. List no address. Share no email (except, of course, with clients)."

Quote:The 8 Samurai - The most Exclusive Art Club in the World
- 8 master swordsmiths forge 8 blades for 8 select clients
- Each sword mounted with antique samurai fittings
- All registered with the NBTHK (Society for the Perservation of the Samurai Sword)
- Each sword signed by both Master and owner
- Each owner wears the gold ring forged with a piece of steel from the blade. Each ring bears the club's gold logo
- Only 8 swords will ever be created
In the 1,000 year history of the art of the Samurai sword, nothing remotely like this has ever been done.

Maybe these exclusive folks need an exclusive writer...

Weird. I might look into this. If not for the pandemic, I'd be all over this.

I reject your martial art world completely if this is what it has come to.

I was just going to send this to Maestro yeti (we share a lot of sword porn) but I then I figured we'd all appreciate this.

Yay! Stupid Sword-Tricks!
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.
