It's Mando release day! I'll probably hold off until Sunday. Disney servers are going to be overloaded.

It's also Truth Seekers release day with your friend Nick Frost.

Mandalorian Season Two

Ep 1 Seemed a little slow and very talky. Lots of talk about going to the place and doing the thing and how they were going to do the thing and why they were doing the thing. First big surprise Cameo in the first ep. Everything looked great but it all just seemed a bit off....

My ninjas are dead. Or at least offline. No Baby Yoda for me right now.

S2 Ep3 Best episode so far. Lots of action. Lots of fun. But Bryce Dallas directs and I don't think she does a very good job. There's always something off about her shows. They seem to have a TV feel rather than a cinematic field. But there was some really good stuff.

Each episode just seems to be a signpost to the next episode which wearies me.

S2e1 was a return to the Wild West. Good cameo tho even tho it raises a lot of questions like how did bf survive the sl and then kd but still lose his ba to the jw? It also felt like Star Wars one upping Dune. I did like how Tatooine was depicted.

S2e2 felt like filler. Who cares about frog eggs? And the Alien homage to the Aragog homage didn’t do a lot for me. We’re those the same spiders from Rebels? Seemed to be.

Still amused by it. The look of the show is great and the Easter eggs are amusing.

According to what I read, they are the same Spiders from Rebels. The Spiders are from the original artwork of McQuarrie.

In retrospect it was kind of silly that they all chose that moment to hatch.

Did you want the spiders to hatch after the Mandalorian left?

S2e3: Bo-Katan! She means little to you but she’s a major figure in Clone Wars & Rebels. She’s Sabine’s sister (a fav Rebels character) and the last wielded of the Dark Saber. She united the Mandalorian at the end of Rebels. Her live-action version was spot on and she finally resolved the helmet thing.

A solid Ep and this one places the show well within canon. I didn’t have the same issues as Greg with Bryce’s direction, although I wondered why you’d need sea ships when you have space ships.

Each Ep this season delivers a decent fight scene. Baby Yoda eats anything. The Ashoka tease was good.

I didn't get the Ashoka tease unless that was the woman who vanished at the pier. I've been reading up on Bo-Katan. I like how there are different factions of the Mandalorians.

Howard did do an homage to her father with Mando's ship entering the atmosphere of the planet. It was a shot for shot remake from Apollo 13 when the Lunar module re-enters earth's atmosphere.

I know what we can watch on Friday if you are still here.

Ashoka is the Jedi Mando is looking for. Although ironically, Ashoka is no Jedi.

The clans are a huge part of Rebels and Clone Wars. It's very feudal. The beskar armor is color coded and has different symbols according to clan. Sabine is a graffiti artist, so her armor is really unique. The Mandalorians unite under the Dark Saber, which was built by the Mandalorian Jedi.

I saw the tweet about the Apollo 13 shot homage. That was cool.
