Happy Validation Day. I have one on the schedule for today. Or not. I should go check Film Freeway to see if it has been pushed. Since, the film hasn't been screened in Portland, I don't have a lot of hope.

More sadness. This is the Kinoteka in Warsaw where the 36th Annual Warsaw IFF will be held. Tickets go on sale tomorrow. Why yes, I am torturing myself. But it's me, so I'm allowed.

It's part of the Ministry of culture complex built by the Soviet Union 50 years ago.

It's Whiplash day here at the Stro thread. In a surprise negation, Hampton's Doc Fest has said no a week early.

But then I received an email from a group that said they wanted to see about getting distribution for Stro at the beginning of September. We went back and forth and then nothing. At the time, I thought it was a scam. The lead man had said he had watched the film, but I saw not record of it on Vimeo.

Anyway, he emailed again today apologizing for the radio silence. He said he must have accidentally deleted my email. He wants to talk next week. Sure. It doesn't hurt to talk.

Like I said, whiplash.

Whiplash! Surprise validation. Director's Cut International Film Festival was supposed to announce tomorrow. It's a little hinky. I'm a semi-finalist. I don't know if that means I screen at the festival. Plus, they are still figuring out how to screen their festival. So, hinky. I have mixed feelings about this one. But better than a surprise negation.

I might have mistimed my entries since last year's mascot for the 2019 Portland Film Festival was tentacular.

Woohoo! I got a free entry into the Oslo Film Festival! I hear Stro was big in Norway.

I get pitches for festival all the time from Film Freeway to enter festivals. A lot of times they have waivers. For this one, if I was one of the first twenty callers, err, entrants, I would get a free entry. If I wasn't one of the first twenty, I would get a 75% discount. I figured if I got to checkout and the festival was still free for me after I entered the code, I would enter. It was free. I entered. Nothing to lose here.

I won't be going to Norway if the film is selected, though.

Surprise Validation Day! Stro has been accepted into the Mescalito Biopic Festival in Italy. Go figure.

DM has seen mescalito. He made a cameo in the salt flats of Utah during an intense shroom experience. And there was fencing involved. Yeti was there. He was the DD.
