Stro
Indeed.

No rest for the wicked. Today is Validation day. I'm supposed to hear from the San Diego FF.

It's like form of Bi-Polar Festival disease. I was excited yesterday about Warsaw and setting up interviews with Boston FF. Today, it's anxiety about the next announcement, which could be more excitement or disappointment.

Over on FB, John McDougall dropped a good tidbit that he didn't share with us. Granted, I don't think we asked him about Warsaw since McDougall's introduction to Stro was after Warsaw.

But John remembers Stro telling him about them singing happy birthday to him during the tournament. This part I knew. It happened in Krakow. Why they were in Krakow is a whole different story. But John says Stro gave the Polish team a whole lid of pot and they team followed him around after that.

There will be no Validation today from the San Diego IFF. In one way that's good, because it overlapped completely with Orlando FF. In the time of Virtual Film Festivals, this would be bad. That doesn't mean I didn't want to be accepted. It is validation, after all.

But this was the rudest rejection yet. I received an automated not from Film Freeway saying my status had been updated to not selected. Usually FFs send out a nice form letter to say I had been rejected. Not for San Diego. Wham Bam Status Updated.

Cork announces on Friday. No one in Ireland has watched the film at this time.

Happy Validation Day! Today we are onto Cork. According to Film Freeway they are still supposed to announce today.

In other news, my sister texted me last night to say my mother might have bought airline tickets to Boston to attend next week's festival. I guess my mother has forgotten there is a pandemic on. Or that she really can't travel anymore. Or that the film isn't showing in any Boston theater because it will be a virtual festival. I'm tempted to let her go to Boston.

Just sent off my impotent answer to Cork's rejection letter. I probably shouldn't have done it, but it makes me mad they decided on the film without seeing the film. Yes, it could be my fault and I should have made a better trailer to entice them. But TIFF screened my film twice before rejecting me. They gave the film a fair shot. That's what I wanted.

If they had done that and still rejected Stro, I would then have the opportunity to find some other way to be angry.

Stro got a mention on Variety's website yesterday as part of the Boston Film Festival press release. I'm pretty chuffed right now.

But srsly - congrats! Getting mentioned in Variety is totally bad ass. I can see Stro sucking back a cig with that smarmy grin after he had a win right now, wherever he is.

If only I liked cheese more. Although I did have some Harry&David sharp cheddar with crackers yesterday.

In today's news of the weird, someone in Missouri has seen the film. Hopefully in preparation for this week's announcements.

Enough of your morning and night cheese! This a serious thread with serious things to be discussed. Especially about me.

The Marina Del Rey Festival has this impossible announcement and release schedule. They notify on Oct 1 and the festival starts on Oct 2. Which is impossible. How do they get the word out? How do they get materials to them in time? They were originally going to have the festival in July but Pandemic. They pushed it to October so they could figure out to do the festival.

Over the weekend, I noticed on the Twitter that films were being announced for the festival. Aha, I say to myself films are being selected. I tweeted out asking Marina Del Rey FF if they had made their announcements for all the films yet.

The Film Director just called me to say they weren't like a lot of other festivals that just pressed a button to signal to all the entrants who had been selected. The MDR FF took the time to personally call people to tell them they were part of the festival. And further, the Festival director was calling me to see if I would like to be part of the festival, too. I said yes. We then talked about the movie for fifteen minutes or so. He was very complimentary and excited about the film.

The upshot. It was a surprise validation day. Stro is going to Marina Del Rey!

The snake story happened at the Marina del Rey Hilton.

ALso, cheese is very important.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

THE PROPHESY IS FULFILLED!

Honestly, bro, how the hell did you remember that?

Here's the real moral of the story:
