COVID-19
For the record Madera now has 3 deaths, 1 more than Santa Cruz. SF is at 45, Alameda is 112 and Santa Clara, 151. that covers all the DOOM posters, right?

Just lost my first friend to Covid-19 today.
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I’m sorry, Cindi.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

Sorry to hear that. I'd say 'welcome to the club' but I daresay everyone will be in this club soon, and at that point, it won't be a club. It'll be everyone.

Condolences. It's hard, especially watching all the covid hoax vitriol.

Madera now has over 200 more cases than the Cruz and 4 more deaths. Alameda leads Clara & Francisco. We aren't even tracking what's happening in So Cal.

I stand corrected.

Madera now has 350+ more cases than Cruz and nearly 3x the deaths.

Once a week for groceries. Although when I went out yesterday to get some stuff for my mother's impending visit, I was pleased to note the majority of people wore masks

I think it stops being a hoax when someone you know gets it.

I think it gets real when you know someone who died from it.

I've had a few friends contract it. One was asymptomatic except for he got covid toes. Another, well, his whole family got it (this is the one that I might have been exposed to and forced me to get tested). They were all really sick for a week but recovered except for their sense of smell. That was a TC guy, another who got laid off, so we've lost contact.

I can't remember if I mentioned this earlier here but my best friend from grad school's father-in-law died from it. He was in a rest home - no funeral, no closure - he just was gone. That was early into this.

I have a lot of medical friends on the frontlines so watching their feeds and chatting with them has made it all too real.

One of Stacy's coworkers came by to look at the granny flat in the back of our property. She got into a conversation with Jen, the ex-wife of the other tenant on our lot. They all lived here when their son was a baby, before their divorce. She still comes around to see her son and she's been building raised garden boxes in the backyard, hoping to set up some sort of communal garden.

Jen and Stacy's coworker got into it about how covid was man made, masking is part of the brainwashing, and it's all tied to 5G. They know. They've done the 'research'. Both are long time residents of the Cruz. Jen has gone off on me before on this. I just avoid her.

It's like Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Suddenly you realize you're talking to a pod person, and you need to get out of there before they start pointing at you and howling.

Oh dear.  The Sutherland maw...

Meanwhile, what's up with WHO?  I am so prepared to defend them against the Horror Clown's latest hissy fit.  But then WHO keeps making really stupid pronouncements.  Coronavirus can't be passed by aerosol?  I thought that was shown to be the main infection route.  Now, grudgingly, they're being made to admit it might be passed that way.  Is there money changing hands behind the scenes?

I thought early on that WHO was very slow to label coronavirus a pandemic.  But I was willing to believe they knew more about when to classify it as such.  But some of the bone-headed statements they've made along the way make me question how they spend their days.

No, I don't want to defend the Horror Clown, and I never will.  But come on, WHO.  If you want us to unite behind you against this common threat, at least show you're deserving of such leadership.
I'm nobody's pony.

It always seems to have a seat at the table where far reaching decisions are made. ( No, I won't do the Hamilton quote). But the horror clown only wants to break things and grift.

I've heard the man-made theory, but never heard the 5G theory from anyone, just read it online. I thought it was extra fringe, QAnon level stupidity

Unfortunately that level of stupidity is more pervasive than we'd like to believe.
