Stacy brought home a tick from her hike today. She wanted to give me some space for the phoner, et.al. She noticed it driving down the highway, brushed it off and threw a bandanna over it. Now it's gone, nesting quietly in my car somewhere. She vacuumed the car but didn't see it. Tick can live up to 2 years without feeding, however they are prone to intense heat and my car, being black, can get in the 100s if left in the sun. So that's what we're doing with it now. Hopefully that tick will cook quickly.

We've been finding ticks on the dogs. It's always scary. They are the one bug that scares me since they are so hard to kill and they burrow into your skin.

It's that tall grass. When we did the hike yesterday, I saw two on the trail and was staying well away from the grass. I just hope that one in my car is dead. I hate ticks.

Still getting our mail. We have missed the occasional day but that might just be that we had no mail.

I think our mail delivery is a bit off, but we have a new carrier recently and she's not as good as the old one. But I feel like this week's New Yorker is way late, and I'm waiting for a form that my brother already received.

And earlier you were worried about walking on the sidewalk in your neighborhood because it was too crowded, and now you're going to someone's house for a haircut?

i know. such double standards in covid world. i still give strangers a wide berth. not comfortable with the arrangement, but there's not a lot of options. but i gotta find work soon or things will get really hard and that means i must neaten up for interviews.

hair salons are opening up here in the cruz. i never thought hair would be so essential. but that's my own issues with hair, obvs.

stacy said we did not get mail again. it's been nearly a week. we are waiting on several important documents including her coffee shipment. she ran out yesterday and verve was closed mysteriously. i'm kinda glad i'm not there this morning.
