Our closest one is Day's Market ironically. It's a beach pit stop. And it's historic. Seabright was the main drag a century ago and Day's Market has stood for decades in that location. I should check it. But we're good for most things really. We've been getting deliveries.
Stacy finally got Instacart resolved. They cancelled the automatic rollover fee that we tried to cancel but couldn't with the pending complaint. They couldn't refund us for the 11 extra units of almond milk but they will credit us for another delivery, so at least we didn't by a $50 carton of almond milk.

Delivery is pretty nice. I miss Trader Joe’s though.

We’ve got the Raymond General Store... not exactly what I’d consider a bodega

I just ate a TJ enchilada for 2nd dinner. Added extra sour cream for that creamy spicy taste sensation. We've only got two more left and no more sour cream.

DAY 43: A day of mixed news.
GOOD NEWS: I got my next UI payment and it showed on my new app (just got to get it deposited next).
BAD NEWS: Looks like they will close the beaches and state parks again on Friday. Thanks OC & Ventura. Way to blow it for all of us. Stacy just took off to Nisene. She's gonna go stir crazy if she can't hike.
GOOD NEWS: We got the masks we ordered at the start of this. At the time, I thought end of April was ridiculous. I'm actually more comfortable with my bandanas - I have a lot of those from working dusty music festivals. The traditional ones are best (I still have the burnooses you gave me Greg and they continue to serve me well - one of the best DOOM gifts ever).
BAD NEWS: It does look like there's something leaking from the Jetta.
GOOD NEWS: Our neighborhood Verve reopened with heightened safety rules. This is the roastery that's a short walk from the bungalow.
BAD NEWS: I've been trying to move some files off my chromebook because it's slowing down. Stacy's been using that since her Mac is old and needs updates and repairs. Also, it's the one we can HDMI to the TV. I got a hefty flash drive to move some archived pix, but when I plug it into either of the two ports, it doesn't show. It shows fine on my Surface Pro. Chromebooks are so dumb.
GOOD NEWS: It's a lovely day today. I feel like writing now but maybe I should take a quick walk on the beach if they're going to close it again. Maybe this evening.

Sounds like an overall good day (OK, the Verve news is the clincher...).
Got the bike serviced, picked up tools at shop to fix H’s rolling butcher-block, coffee’d at Andytown, waiting to talk to tax accountants in AZ regarding B’s back taxes, then shipping them files, more coffee, go fix butcher-block at H’s, fetch to-go German food for our Thursday tradition, relax.

Right? Stacy has been french-pressin Verve every morning but I haven't indulged in any coffee since a Companion bakery pick-up several weeks ago. It's funny because she's been waking up earlier than me and caffeinating, then I wake up, and she gives me the day's new et.al. in a rapid stream of caffeine-fueled statements as I make tea & breaky. I'll probably indulge in some Verve soon tho. Self care, man, it's all about that self care.
There have been two sitonmyfacebook groups that have kept me occupied.
Concellation 2020 is a nerd-fan group that started up when all the comic-cons got cancelled.
A group where we pretend to all WORK at the same music festival is a lot of music industry peeps, roadies, infrastructure, security, logistics, etc, that started up when all the concerts got cancelled.
Both are hilarious and very active. Someone will post a meme and there will be hundreds of witty comebacks within hours. Both are also fairly a-political. They've been good diversions.

I've been chipping at this issue all morning. Went in so many circles reading FAQs and helps. So far, the best I can do it seems is to upload my files to my goog drive and then download them to the flash drive via my surface pro. Chromebooks are closed-system, like Apple did. I compressed the file and the upload said 4+ hours at first, then it got down to less than an hour. It's been whirling for a while now. The little circle gets almost complete, like 7 mins to go, then my janky xfinity wifi drops out and we're back to 50+ mins. I have dozens of files to transfer this way, assuming it even works.
gawdammit.

I feel your pain.
And I managed to transfer one file successfully.
Just 17 more to go.

DAY 44: May Day.
Got a pick up at New Leaf today. Maybe a trip to the bank in hopes of transferring my UI payment. My allergies are kinda bothering me this morning so I've retreated back into my cave with the filter on full.

The New Leaf pickup was through Instacart and they effed it up again. What is up with Instacart? I think we're done with them.
But I got some nacho chips. Such a treat. Would've eaten the whole bag had I not stopped myself.
Didn't go to the bank. Just ate, surfed the web, read a bit, and sat on my ass. I did my 'soft martial arts' as per Newsom's latest list of covid-19 permissable activities "Soft martial arts – Tai Chi, Chi Kung (not in groups)"
Been trying to write but only nibbling. Can't get in the groove today. Was waiting for the mailman like a dog waits for its owner. That's been my day.

I sent Stro off to be converted into a Digital Cinema Package (DCP). It has to be in that format to screen at Festivals. Which means I now have a lot of SIP time. For whatever reason, I decided that after months of sitting at the desk the best thing I could do would be to switch to heavy manual labor.
Yep, spent the afternoon in the fenced area pouring more concrete for more paths. My body is now telling me my choice was unwise. I will now have to lie down for at least forever.

Quick run to the shop to return tools (I replaced castors on H’s rolling butcher-block table last night) Got coffee since I was by Andytown, stuck my head into the local bodega, scored a 5lb bag of all-purpose flour (a hot pandemic item down here) followed by Clean the Cave Day followed by Laundry. Cooked up lunch/dinner (“Linner”? “Dunch”?) Whisky Zoom meeting, dishes, now time to make coffee and get back to Jessica Jones III or read NK Jemison Obelisk Gate. Or both.

DAY 45: Made a run to the bank to transfer our UI to our chacking. We're good now for rent and food, and even have a little extra to send to Tara (she's furloughed from her work-study as a U cafe barista).
Allergies are up today. We spent less than an hour out and I'm itchy.
Stacy wants to put the screens up today and maybe clean the shed. Me, I'm thinking, 2nd breakfast next. Got fresh eggs and avocados so an avo omelet maybe?
Gavin says it may be days instead of weeks until we reopen. I'm eager to get back to work, but I'm also very comfortable in my quaranroutine now and reticent to go back. Maybe that's what fueled last night's brain circus.
