Making documentaries about wombats doesn't mean you understand what they're thinking.
Oh wait...that's not the analogy I want to make...

Except that we're non-essential. Stupik firearms.
At least we got to stab a lot of people.

More essential than documentary film-makers.
OK, maybe not.
Damn.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

Was 'Control what you can control" one of Stro's more popular aphorisms?

I don't recall him saying that exactly but it was well within his general philosophy towards competition. Did someone else reference that? Or are you just being Greg with that?

I'm always Greg, as you well know. All Greg. All the time.
Peter Burchard brought it up as one of the key lessons he still uses.

I don’t remember that one. Maybe from his LA Daze. The best one from those days, and one that I quote weekly when I’m working is: “Forget about winning or losing — those are distractions. Focus on *fencing*. Winning is a by-product of good fencing.”

"Hit da madderfakker. Don't get hit." That Stroism stuck with me like no other. I quote that one all the time.

"Nobody remembers who took 2nd except that person and his mother." That always stuck with me because I always took second... if I even managed to place.

Hmm, that resonates. I'm in poster creation mode. Actually, Lyndell is in poster creation mode. I'm in copy for poster mode. As well as make a website for movie mode. I've got lots of modes. None of them Ala, sadly.

Nice.
One could almost write a movie review of it already.
