Fascinating.
Dakota Fanning as an autistic trekkie trying to submit a script to Paramount for a contest. Toni Collette as her therapist. And in a well played easter egg, Dr. Carol Marcus plays Dakota's sister (Darkness Marcus, not Wrath Marcus). Dakota attempts a nerdy pander and an acting tour de force in one film and it doesn't quite make it on either level. Nevertheless, it's a decent story, set initially in SF (and no, you don't cross Market that way to get to the bus station). Major plug for Cinnabon. It has its trekkie moments in its adoration for Spock and how he represented the outsider (here, the autistic). I enjoyed it for what it was but it didn't quite pull my trekker heartstrings, but I could identify with where the script was going on some levels. Not particularly DOOM recommended except for the DOOM trekkers of which I'm the only one because I'm the only one that went boldly into Disco. No sword fights.
Picard next week. Make it so. I hope I can Ferengi that somehow because we cancelled CBS Access after Disco concluded.
