Ricky Gervais is a jerk and isn't that funny. But he's controversial so bring him back and we'll get a lot of press. I think the first time he did the GG, he was extremely funny. But he opted out of that for being outrageous and attacking people.

There were some really great acceptance speeches. The tributes to Tom Hanks and Ellen Degeneres were the highlights. Ellen approached it as if she needed ten minutes of material and she killed it. Tom Hanks was Tom Hanks.

Halfway through the night I realized that Hollywood loves them some Hollywood and Once Upon A Time was going to win. Tarantino still comes across as a jerk, but now without the addiction. I also wonder if he is going to keep his promise to only do 10 films. My money is on no.

My other big take away was that I need to see 1917.

Didn't watch but I've been overhearing a lot of Ellen when caretaking for my mom and she's still great.  I'm grateful I got to see her do stand-up back in the day.

Scanned the newsfeeds this morning to check out the winners.

I knew OUATIH would do well.  Hollywood loves films about Hollywood and they luv the 'bad boy' QT can be.  And even if he stops at 10, I'm sure there will be plenty of extended director's cuts. 

Glad to see The Farewell, Joker and Parasite get recognized.  Agreed on 1917.

It's Ho not Hu.

Gotta kno yo hos, doncha kno?

That comment makes me want to goog his speech.  My money is on Parasite for Best Foreign Language Oscar.

I blame autocorrect and it's bias against Koreans.

It's a very short speech but that was the bit that resonated.

It's going to win Foreign.

Your girl, T-swizzle, was in the house. Her dress was horrible. Not a speck of cat fur on it.

Oof.  Only a gorgeous woman would dare in that eyesore.  Or a drag queen.

Now if someone were to photoshop Kit-T-Swizzle on that dress, well, that would be something.
