The Mandalorian

I thought the production values on this episode were poor. It looked a lot like a bad SciFi TV show from the 1970s. And at the risk of being burned as a heretic, when does Carano get her tryout as a Linebacker?

It was less effect heavy than the previous. Finally some hoomans.  Meh, let's go back to the aliens.

And Footballers go to MMA not the other way around.  Gina's actually lost some muscle tone since we met but we met when she was in her fighting prime, pre-fight for the one that basically ended her time in the cage.

This just struck me: s1e4=7 samurai; sw eiv=hidden fortress.

Gina can tackle me *anytime*.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

No, no. Please convince me that the Gina Carano from Mandalorian is smaller than the Gina Carano that fought Cyborg. I'll wait.

She’s not as cut. Her guns are still huge but not hard from thousands of hours throwing punches. There’s a big difference between big (ppfy) & rock hard (dm). (I know I know, dm is as doughy as the rest of you lot now but he couldn’t resist taking the shot).

The odd thing is that she was really sworn conscious about her body image, prolly from our narrow minded culture body shaming her thick frame. When we met, she was wearing all black and completely covered up. She was almost bashful. But when we held each other, I could totally feel her rock hard flank like a polished hunk of michaelangelos marble, through her frumpy black top. If there’s one thing female mma champs have done, its to start to erode that twiggy standard of beauty - thank goodness.

Still resisting reposting that pic although regretting not ff-Ing it last Friday.

The entire internet is either Baby Yoda (Not Yoda's baby) or Gina Carano. That being said here is some news from Blaster about Gina. I guess she will be back this season.

Quote:Cara Dune may have made a big entrance with her first appearance on Episode 4 of The Mandalorian, but actor Gina Carano says we’ll know much more about her still-mysterious character by the time the curtain falls on Season 1. Speaking recently with The Hollywood Reporter, Carano said Cara Dune definitely has a backstory, and that it’ll come to light as fans follow her growing role in the Mandalorian’s bounty-dodging race across the galaxy.
“Before I did the introductory scene, [showrunner] Jon [Favreau] told me a secret about my character, and it added so much depth to what her life has been like,” she said, later adding that, “[a]fter The Mandalorian season finale, I hope people have seen the growth in my work and the hard work I’ve put into acting.”
That’s definitely far from spoiler territory, but at least it makes Cara Dune sound like an ongoing part of the tale. And the show itself has reportedly become a beacon for big-name directors curious about what Favreau and Disney are up to: “It’s really interesting because [Steven] Spielberg, the Coen brothers and Seth Rogen have visited to check out the set,” Carano said. Add that to Rian Johnson’s enthusiastic “hell, yeah!” when recently asked whether he’d direct a future episode if scheduling allows, and it appears the Force is strong with The Mandalorian.
Via Collider, episode 7 of The Mandalorian will also come with one additional treat: A Disney+ exclusive sneak peek at The Rise of Skywalker. In order to make the timing work ahead of the movie’s Dec. 20 release, that means the 7th (and next-to-last) episode of Season 1 will debut on Wednesday, Dec. 18, rather than the show’s usual Friday slot. You can catch all four episodes (and all those sweet, sweet baby Yoda scene-stealers) in The Mandalorian’s unfolding first season now at Disney+.

Ah... spoiler...

...or teaser?

Like I said in my Daughter of the Wolf review:

I read another interview where Gina said Cara Dune was designed specifically for her.  CARAno.  Not sure why I didn't notice that before...

I could be Yoda's baby.  Maybe he and Yaddle got it on.  Shagged, did they?

Ming Na!

This episode didn't seem to really go anywhere. Although for fans of the movies it must have been like taking crack to see all the old familiar places. But the plot doesn't really move forward. We don't learn anything new about the characters. Baby Yoda continues to be a lump that everybody fawns over, but we don't learn any more about him.

I'm hoping when the series is done, I can sit and watch the whole thing as one long movie and it will be more compelling.

Yes, I hate everything.

Our gal Gina fared much better than your gal Ming Na.   Icon_surprised Icon_lol

Actually, I was a little bummed how that turned out.   Frown

Loved the shout outs to A New Hope and one Mando line made me completely rethink Tuskans.

You seem really impatient for the main story to advance here Greg.  Remember when TV didn't have those long seasonal soap opera story arcs?  I'm enjoying the pacing and tone.  It's so cinematic for TV.  Honestly, I'm not really interested in the main story driving all this.  As long as there's Baby Yoda, and Ex-Shock Trooper CARAno, it's all good.

Yes, I'm funny in that I want the story to go somewhere. In this one, we land on the planet. We go to the desert. We come back from the desert. We leave the planet. And we take to Amy Sedaris.

You know, now that I see it laid out, you're right. So much is happening.

Patience isn't a strong suit.

What's happening is Disney taking my money again.  I have a cumbersome collection of yoda merch.  Mind you, I don't buy it.  People give me yoda stuff.  Now all I want is some Baby Yoda stuff.  I don't know why.  It's clearly a Jedi mind trick.

Maybe you shouldn't have called your psyche unit the Jedi Night Crew?

Let it be known, I will not be buying you any Star Wars Merch for Christmas.

Actually that wasn't my call - the name.  I only specified the spelling as Jedi Nite Krew, mostly because I liked the sound of Jay-N-Kay.  It grew out of a laminate I made.  We used to joke that we'd get past guards and security with that old 'these aren't the droids you're looking for' trick, and the test of a JNK was if they could make it on stage using one of our fake lammies and the FORCE.  The FORCE can have a strong influence on the weak minded...and the stoned.

I don't need any Star Wars merch.  Srsly, I got a lot already.  Too damn much.  So any additions have got to be good.

I'm wondering if there will be lightsabers.  Also wondering who the tracker was in the last scene.  I'm hoping for Maul but that would be a stretch, given the timeline.  The Solo Cameo wasn't sufficient, and he was alive in Rebels, which was contiguous to A New Hope, so he might have survived until after the Return of the Jedi.  Star Wars needs more Maul.  Even Baby Maul would be cool.

Episode 6

Aha! I know what the problem was. The other episodes didn't have enough Mandolorian being the Mandolorian. That all changed in this episode. The Mandolorian gets to be a badass. He kicks ass. He's smart. And we didn't spend the majority of the time watching Baby Yoda blink. Which could be a TV show to itself. But there was a lot fo fun things going on. Lots of twists. Lots of scum and villainy. I approve. Except for one small bit.

Bill Burr can't act his way out of a bag. Sadly miscast. Like tits on a bull.
