It's the Star Wars TV show that will be coming to Disney+, the new Disney streaming service. It's created by Jon Favreau.
But the important part is why hasn't DM told us Gina Carano is going to be in it? I know he's not Alexa or Siri, but he's usually the GC horn blast.

I've been following it on that other forum. You know, the one where I make my living...

I was hoping Gina would play a Twi'lek. My hopes for that were dashed over the weekend.

Yeah. More streaming. Dammit.
It has a Firefly feel to it. Or what Firefly aimed to be.

Rebels was closer to the Star Wars take on Firefly even though it was a cartoon. But it had the same idea of a rogue pirate ship circumnavigating galactic war, and the dynamics of the crew was very parallel. And Rebels is what also launched the world of Mandalore. I'm thinking this has more of a Yojimbo feel (some buzz is billing it as 'man with no name'-esque but we all know that was derived from Yojimbo).
I'm really torn on Disney+. It's not that expensive (to start) and D23 made some enticing announcements. Right now, we're down to just Netflix and Amazon Prime and we might let go of one of those. I kinda need Netflix for work sometimes (you have to have an account to get screener access on top of being registered on their press site). Amazon Prime has so many other perks (free shipping, Whole Foods ... plus Expanse Season 4). We'll probably pick up Showtime ala Amazon for the final season of Homeland, and I'll want CBS Access again for ST: Disco S3. It's such a shuffle with services now. First world problems.

Now, that I know Bill Burr stars in Mandolorian, I might have to pick up Disney+
Or not.

I have drunk the Kool-Aid. I have signed up for three years of Disney+. They are running a special. If you sign up for two years they give you the third year free. I have three years for $140.

S1e1 was promising. It's sort of a western really. It's the Star Wars galaxy that makes it interesting, that and the cast. Werner Herzog was the only one I recognized (although I might have got Carl Weathers if I thought on it harder - he looked familiar). I didn't recognize Nolte or Waititi. It's kinda weird because almost everyone is masked or voices for creatures and droids.
I'm in. I can hardly wait to see Gina.

Waititi was the bounty hunter robot. The Queen thinks Nolte was the little guy who meets the Mandolorian when he first comes down to the planet.
I liked it. It felt a little sparse, like it wasn't quite filled in yet. I get a Firefly vibe from it all.
I'm curious how many episodes there will be in the season.

S1Ep2 seemed like a filler episode. Nothing moves the plot forward. The Mandalorian has a quest to fulfill. But we don't learn anything about him. One of the other characters does reveal a little bit more about him or herself, but it's something we should have seen coming. There are a few funny bits. And there's that marbles in his mouth accent from Nick Nolte to enjoy for another episode.

s1e2 - serious daw factor. as in daaaaawwwwww. #babyyoda
'i'm a mandalorian. weapons are part of my religion.' <- already this show drops quotable lines for me.
i'm glad the music has returned to a trumpet fanfare.
note that there isn't a single human face in this ep. just masks and cgi faces.
the questions:
we know about force ghost - what about force reincarnation?
lone wolf and cub in space? cuz i'm down for that.
how many planets do jawas live on? or is this tatoonie?
tasers and blasters - what about lightsabers?
what the hell is yoda anyway?
why does mando's ship look like the flying testicle ship from battle beyond the stars?
am i the only one who thinks mando's ship looks like the flying testicle ship from battle beyond the stars?
why do i dig this show so much? am i that bad of a star wars addict? oh wait, don't answer that last one. i know. we all know.
when comes gina?
i have spoken
