Cats of DOOM

The procedure went well.  My mom fell asleep during it.  She's resting now and reading.

She's still in pain when she sits up, and probably still under the medication, so it's hard to tell.  The doc said she may still experience pain after the procedure, but hopefully it'll be manageable.  We're waiting for the doc to visit for the follow-up and ok for the PT to start working with her.  She will most likely be discharged tomorrow, but we're not sure if it will be to home or to a nursing home for rehab.  It all depends on how it all went.

I'm spending the rest of the day here at the hospital.  The wifi is good and I can work remotely.

The one thing I like about hospitals is that the toilets are very clean and abundant.

Still waiting for that doc.

My mom was able to stand and then sit up for dinner without pain. Tomorrow she’ll undergo so physical therapy tests - if she can walk 200 ft and climb some stairs, she’ll be released. If not, she’ll go to a rehab center for a while. Hoping for the best tomorrow.

We all are hoping for the best. We are also, probably, wishing you a good nights rest.

My mom passed all her tests and is being transferred to a rehab center.  She's no longer in pain although her knee is bothering her, the one that was replaced in 2015.  It's likely the result of deconditioning and reciprocal to her earlier suffering.

Skittles has tucked comfortably into Tara's old room.  It's the best room in our bungalow, with nice light and a deep walk-in closet.  Tara decorated it with cat nooks and crannies in mind.  I couldn't find Skittles again, even in that small room, for quite some time.  He is a champion ninja cat.  I finally found him tucked deep in the closet, at the bottom of a carpeted cat tube which I found in a parking lot many years ago  It's maybe two feet high at best, with two openings, the lower one was turned so it couldn't be seen.  That's where he was.

I don't blame Skittles for my mom's situation.  He's an innocent.  He's actually a very sweet cat - I suspect he suffered some past trauma that has made him so timid.  I'm saddened that he has had to move about so much due to all of this.  Who could've predicted the tragedy that befell us?  I hope we can find him a safe and loving home, and will work towards that.  Until then, he can stay in Tara's room.

oh goddammit.

I have no idea where Skittles is. He was tucked in the back of Tara’s closet but now is nowhere to be found. Did he escape? I’ve looked in every room in the bungalow, every nook and corner. Most of you have seen our bungalow - it’s tiny yet congested with stuff (except for Stacy’s room - thanks Marie Kondo). There really aren’t many places for a cat to hide. It’s like at my mom’s home last week when he was in plain view, just tucked between some doll cases like E.T. in a closet full of stuffies.

I left food out and we’ll know if he’s still here if he eats it or uses the litter box.

Dammit.

Although, he(she) could be too frightened to come out of whatever spot they have found.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

Stacy said there was fresh poo in the litter box.  So maybe Skittles is still with us.

Maybe you need to set up some motion-activated camera traps?

Anyway, hoping you find him.
