Any possibility of hiring Pillar's daughter to pole dance at some guys funeral?
Okay, so that was uncalled for (but of course I answered).

Piller's daughter was killed about 2 years after Piller died. Her husband poured acid all over her because of suspected infidelity. It took her 30 days to die.
Her husband was accidentally released and currently resides somewhere in Germany.
Google DeKlapany.
So, no pole dances for you.

Holy crap.
Walked into that one.
I recently read about acid attacks as research for a story. Absolutely chilling what can become vogue in a country, and sometimes accepted as tit for tat, even if there was no tat.
Nasty and ghastly.
To be honest, I'd much rather have pole vaulters at my Alana Boydfuneral or wake or whatever. The likes of Yelena Isinbayeva and Nikoleta Kyriakopoulou and Angelica Bengtsson and Marina Kylypko and Lisa Ryzih and Nikoleta Kyriakopoulou, to name a few off the top of my head (with perfect pronunciation).

Just skewer me on the crossbar at 18 feet and let them jump.
If that's hell, I'm fine with it.

So, I've spent the last ten days putting in pictures and doing more cutting (video, not wrist, although it was a near thing). At this point you'd think that would be easy and I would be on the home stretch. But it's been kind of ugly. I feel like I've destroyed this beautiful narration only documentary. I'm having a lot of second thoughts and third and fourth about whether this is the proper picture. There is also the problem of not having the right photo or video.
Basically, it's been a pain in the dick. But it's done. And I haven't watched, but I sense that at the moment it is a giant turd. I tried to do something creative with the pictures ala ken Burns but I don't know if it works. If it doesn't, I have a lot of pictures to change.
HK is currently sourcing us some some music for the score. A man at his church is a musician with a studio. he is very excited about the project. I had this thought today that maybe I should hear some of this music before we unleash him.
Tomorrow, our money man is going to see what is money has bought him. That is not worrying at all. I'm, unfortunately, not going to be there when he sees it and will get my report from HK. So, yeah, good times.
My current hope is to have a sufficient cut ready by February to show a bigger pool of people when I come up to the Bay Area at that time. I'm coming up to watch over my father while my mother and sister are in London.

Short answer is: Party at Greg's house!!!
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

We'll see. Don't count on it. Seeing it at the folks house, that is.

The Cranefly Ceiling-Bump might be a candidate for a showing. Is there a time window we're talking about? The Lady and I head off for a monsoon in mid-February. Or will things simply be too hectic for a DOOM accretion?

Thank you for the offer. I will be there from Feb 6 to 11, I think. It depends on when my mother goes to London to get her book award (Book award not really included)
I'm thinking, HK and I might be doing things a bit bigger. I hope the film is in such a state that we can show it to a large group for feedback, which means we might be showing at the West Berkeley Fencing Center.
But again cart and horse. I just finished looking at Roughcut 7 and I want to drown my sorrows in iced tea and a bag of fununs.
Actually, it's not that bad. It just needs a lot more smoothing. I'm liking the second half after WW2 and I think my interviewees all do a good job, quite the rogues gallery of characters.

Good idea! Can we bring a pre-show flick? I'm thinking Tetsuo of course...

It works like this. You write a book. Then, unscrupulous people send letters to the gullible people who are desperate for fame telling them to enter their book festivals. For a fee of course. Which someone in my family has done and has won an honorable mention for her book. Go team. The award ceremony is in London. Yes, that London.
My sister is taking the winner and I'm coming up to 'Toga to keep an eye on my father.

So, no film this time. But next time.
Had two sit downs with HK to watch the film and offer suggestions. In between the visits, I completely re-edited the film. Which if you never done on a laptop with a 13" monitor is quite entertaining. But it got me really close to getting all the narrative bits from the talking heads in the right order. I have this dream I will get to that point by the end of the week. Woohoo. Then I just need to get the narration that HK has been promising me.
There will be a slight pause in production as next week I head to Florida to visit the Queen's mother and step-father.
I will probably be back in the Bay Area in early March for final talks and then maybe a screening. Maybe.
It is starting to look very film like.
