Time for the show Castle to have it's own thread. I'm still watching especially now that it seems to be speaking directly to me. For instance on the episode we watched last night, the soon to be murdered girl was on her way to a place called Club Doom. Come on, Club Doom!
Then the episode before that was called Child's Play. Which isn't too far deep into me. Castle goes to a school to try and get a kid to confess to seeing a murder. The part where it gets really synchronistic is the school they shot at was the same school where we filmed Child's Play 2. That was too close to home.
Next thing you know film trucks are going to be pulling up to the house to film an episode called 'Havoc and Mayhem'

We were really into Castle for a spell. I even got Mrs DM the Nicki Heat book as a joke xmas present (I don't think she read it; I think she sold it back for something more substantial). Then Castle and Beckett hooked up a few seasons back, which killed some of the tension between them, so I took a break. But then, the cast drew me back and I'm watching it again. I liked the opening of this season, the where's Castle been theme, but then it sort of disappeared, only to be mentioned on odd occasions. Then there was that invisible suit episode where I was just thinking 'srsly?' Note that I liked the time-traveler episode in...last season was it? I prefer it to stay somewhat real, not get all sci-fi and the time traveler one left it open nicely, but the invisible suit just didn't work for me. After the conclusion of the "it's a wonderful life"-ish episode last week, well, I guess I'm still watching. I was waiting for the reference to that Kate-having-read-Castle-before-they-met schtick to make the whole other dimension thing into a possible reality, but they didn't really go there.
I got my mom hooked on the reruns.

The invisible suit didn't work for me, either.

I just saw the cowboy one. Funny. I'm not sure which I enjoyed more - the spin on the opening credits or Kate in a black gunslinger bodice.

Amusing - they seem to be playing with genres now - but they really missed the boat with the Rousey parody. This would have really sold me if they had some genuine action has-beens, someone like the guy who played Kreese in Karate Kid. How hard would it have been to get some actors like that? I did like the schtick with Ryan trying out his tag line. Ryan and Espo have been killing it this season.
I recently saw the original premiere episode as a rerun. It's kind of amazing how little the characters have changed really. I do miss the smarmier shallower Castle and the icy cold Kate. It was good to see the writer's poker game again even though I don't read those authors - I thought that was a great motif and was sad when they abandoned it.

The most recent ep - Castle P.I. = a white pom PLUS the Tiger Claw club? WTH?
Clearly a writer for Castle is lurking on this forum and poaching ideas. I totally empathize with that. DOOM is ofter my muse too.
So to whoever you are lurking down here in the DOOM mines, this is for you.
Stana Katic + 10 gallons of nacho sauce (not with jalapeno oil - that makes things too hot).
Just sayin...

that was the end of 3xk? american snipered by javi? and how the heck do you deal with a knife attack when in full four-point restraint with only one hand free? sure, sure, you can grab the attackers knife hand but then what? why doesn't the attacker just switch the knife to the other hand. srsly?
On a parallel note, I caught the series finale of The Mentalist, which was to Castle as State of Affairs is to Homeland, sort of knock-off lite, or as I like to view it, TV series methadone. I used to follow that show somewhat, but lost track of it a season or two ago. It had the Castle formula: hot brunette detective paired with an annoying Sherlockian civilian hunk, strong supporting cast in the fellow crime solvers, a main character haunted by the murder of a close family member, some uber villains that ran throughout the series, and most episodes began with a phone call after the body was found. Robin Tunney and Simon Baker weren't nearly as attractive as Stana and Nathan, but I really liked Tim Kang in that show - it was one of the few Asian actor roles where he was never saddled with his Asianess. It was a two-hour finale last night and I've totally lost track of what happened with that show (Van Pelt and Rigsby married with kids? wth?) but it was a somewhat satisfying ending as it was a happily ever after one, unlike say, the series finale of Mork and Mindy or Little House on the Prairie, which were just weird. But it was another coupling of the male and female leads, which sort of ruins the sexual tension that made the show special in my mind. Kim Possible was totally ruined when Kim hooked up with Ron.

This season seems to bounce back and forth between amusing and silly. I'm waiting for the season finale in hopes that there will be some resolution to Castle's disappearance in the beginning of this season.

Luved this ep. Good to see Linda Park again. I always felt she was underdeveloped in Enterprise. Hope she becomes a recurring character.

Yup. I liked it, too. Not too silly. Actual mystery to be solved. No unbelievable tech.

Aw man. They might have just as well brought back the invisible suit.

I will respond when I see that episode. The DVR filled up while we binged on Daredevil. Make mine, Marvel, dammit!

Oh wait. I didn't spoil it. Except for that it's a let down. Or at least it was to me.
On the upside, Worf makes a reappearance.
Not even going to touch that Marvel addiction of yours. At least not right now.

Didn't seem spoilery. I'm ready for disappointment
It seems like the writers painted themselves into a corner with the where's Castle storyline and couldn't get out of it. So, they punted.
And that ladies and gentleman is your mangled metaphor for the day.

It was a total punt. But they've left the door open for more, so perhaps there will be a touch-back.
You can do it, CB. You can totally punt this football.
