Turns out, not so amazing. As one reviewer pointed out, there is a good movie in there somewhere and I concur.
There is a lot of stuff to this movie. Lots of different dynamics. If they had concentrated on fewer storylines, it might have been better. I kept wishing Peter would step moping over Gwen and go do something heroic or punch some one. Do something.
Another problem is everything is too big. Why crash one cop car when you can crash a hundred. Especially with the gobs of cash they throw at these movies. How expensive was it to close Time Square in order to film there?
Plus, the battles with his enemies seemed to end to easily, not really a sense of danger from the bad guys. And the bad guys switched over pretty quick, too.
I'm just glad I didn't see it in IMAX 3D as was the original plan. It looked fine in 2D.
No swordfights, but plenty of things get broken.
