IMDB reports a possible 2006 holiday release. Good luck wishing for those subtitles.

They never ruin stories by turning them into Movies. Is that Viggo Mortenson in the lead?
So much for the flickr badge idea. Dammit

Sure, I know. Optimist. Tattoed on the back of my neck. BUT!

Yes, it's Viggo. No, not the one from GB2, the one from LOTR. And, he grew up in, I dunno, like, Brazil or something. So he's fluent in Spanish. And this film is made in Spain, shot in Spanish. From a book by a Spaniard. All about Spain during the time we normally, historically and emotionally, reserve in our thoughts as a time period about Frenchmen killing other Frenchmen.

But, see, it's the Spanish side of the story. Well, kinda. Shot in Spain!

Anyway, there just may be a smidgen of hope that it won't be made waaaay worse than the book.

Maybe?

...the sword fights. If the sword fights are good, it'll probably be enjoyable. I should really read this since y'all are so into it. Then I can be all cocky when the movie comes out - I could be yelling "that wasn't in the book" at the premiere and stuff. Yeah. Sounds fun to me.

Why don't you host another movie premier. you can bring Maestro Martinez out to co-host the event. Way better than Jet Li!
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

How can any sword fight surpass "The Princess Bride"?

I mean I'll watch the movie and all, but get real!
