Gulags suck.
Walking 4000 miles to escape your Siberian prison also sucks. Sitting for two hours watching people suffer on their trek gets really uncomfortable. I suggest renting this so it can be watched from the comfort of a couch or bed, while snacking, and preferably wrapped in a cozy warm blanket, or next to a nice fire.
I won these tickets on the radio and I do think the movie was good. Just not as uplifting as I had hoped. Based on a true story. Good performances by Ed Harris, Colin Farrell, and those other actors that I didn't recognize. The newsreel sequence at the end and the epilog seemed like they were a tacked on afterthought, and not really part of the same movie. I was thinking this might be a good double feature paired with Forrest Gump.
Here's the trailer:

PS: Didn't know that National Geographic had an Entertainment division....
