i'm not that into fallon as a late night host and the boys ran rings around him. i missed palin tho.

cleese was quoted in entertainment weekly - the 4 reasons to buy fawlty towers, now on dvd. he gave a good shot at palin.

palin was quoted in the s.f. chron recently too, something about how proud he was to have been a python.

looking forward to the ifc doc. a friend has promised to rip it for me...

Saw the whole thing. Liked it very much. It is so much better after the first episode.

i thought 2 was weaker. too much ruminating about fav skits and then showing clips. i was disappointed that they didn't go into how spam became part of our daily vocab. i also thought gilliam wasn't credited as a member of python until the 2nd season. they were discussing how he was overlooked but didn't go into that. i remember hearing an old interview with gilliam about how they finally had to acknowledge the american....

Yeah, there seemed to be a lot of whinging and whining. Cleese comes off the poorest, I think. I thought I saw a lot of not quite so thinly veiled hostility because the group didn't listen to him more and how he got stuck with Chapman during his alcoholism days. I liked the second episodes for the clips. It was good to see the old bits.

I've had the opening theme from Life of Brian playing in my head since we saw the Lust for Glory episode.
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

that was the cleese on defense/chapman on the sauce one. hearing them comment on each other was hysterical.

I would love to see that original interview with Chapman where he talked so much about his alcoholism. Would also love to see that Palin & Cleese vs. the to religious dudes on Brian, and the original stuff for the making of Holy Grail. All in all, it was a very satisfying doc.
