You may have been the only DOOMer to actually train Iron Crotch but I'd bet a bottle of syrup that you're out of training now.

I thought making it bigger was the point of Iron Crotch.
And it never looked like fun. I remember translating the video with Gigi and she came to a part that she translated as 'Don't shoot'. Where's the fun in that?

I get a bit squirrelly when someone tells me they are going to call me the next day in an email and then doesn't. Especially if it's from a film festival. I immediately think of a million reasons why this happened, the most prominent being that the Film Festival realized it made a mistake in accepting me and are now ghosting me.
This happened with the Boston FF. The wrote and said they would call and didn't. I sent them an email asking if there had been a miscommunication. I waited. When there was still no answer, i sent a second email asking if there had been a miscommunication. No reply. I worried because the Boston FF starts in a little more than two weeks.
My anxiety was relieved last night by an email from Boston FF and replaced with a different anxiety. Yes, I was in. Yes, they wanted my film. They wanted it immediately because they were streaming the festival in a little over two weeks. No kidding?
The problem was a I purchased a new computer and it was/is giving me fits. The biggest problems is my hard drives thinking I had no permission to the information on them, including a very important movie file which needed to be uploaded. I spent last weekend doing all sorts of tricks to convince the Hard Drives we were friends and they should share their information with me. For a few brief instances, they would agree we were friends, and then go 'Psyche' and treat me like I was Gucifer 2.0
When I received the email from Boston, I resolved that play time was over and the Hard Drives needed to start talking to me. Also, since I live in the heart of rural California and have the slowest upload speeds in the world, I could walk the film to Boston quicker than it would take to upload, I needed to start now.
I started up the computer and then started fiddling with the Hard Drives, hoping they would boot up. While I waited for them, I logged into the site where Boston FF wanted me to upload the film. Then the miracle occurred. The site wanted to know if I wanted to upload or transfer from Dropbox? What strange mystery is this? I do have Dropbox. The film is on it. In two flavors since Orlando wanted a different flavor than the one I uploaded.
I clicked the link that said Dropbox on the upload site. I clicked the file on Dropbox. The Festival website told me my film was uploaded and I was done. All in about a second. The relief poured through me. Boston was good to go.
At this point, all the festivals have the film or have access to the films. Mystery European Festival has their codes to view the film and they are viewing the film. All is good.
What can I worry about next? Oh, yeah, I just found out AFI Fest which announces tomorrow, won't accept Stro because AFI Fest needs and LA premiere.

Burbank is not LA. Everyone in LA agrees with this.

Weird. I'm having some weird issue with my wordpress blog site this morning. I posted my latest Den article here: https://geneching.wordpress.com/my-lates...daniel-wu/
But it's not showing on my site https://geneching.wordpress.com/ not even in my admin.
Wordpress updated some functions today so maybe it's lost in the transition - a ghost in the machine.
I should really learn how to use wordpress at some point...

I'm blaming the smoke. It's playing havoc with streaming and our internet connection. Although, DirecTV pointed in the exact same direction has no problem. Grrrr.
Computer continues to fight me here.
But I'm having a meeting like the big kids with Boston FF's Robin in about an hour after all. She wants to talk Premiere Status and Position. It all sounds High Falutin.

Oooh, Boston! Don't make me lump you in with Burbank as festivals that jerk my chain. Robin from Boston never called. I did a send an email asking if I screwed up the time after she was a half hour late. But she didn't respond to that either.
Currently battling with the Hard Drives. The computer has decided all my files on the Stro drive are corrupt. Not worried at all.

Happy Validation Day. Today it will be only AFI Fest sending out announcements as Ojai jumped the gun by accepting me and pushing their notification day until Sept 15.
I do want to get into AFI since AFI is a pretty good brand, but they might kick me out when they realize I can't give them a LA premiere. But I will have that discussion!
