Sheltering in Place
Yeah Lowes in S'vale is my neck of the woods (when I was going into the office). It's down the street from one the remaining Fry's stores. Also, less known, if you go east on Kifer about a mile, there's a similar store called "HD Supply" or something like that. Not sure if they support Trump, Biden, or indpendents, but I find things there from time to time that I don't in the other stores...

My dad used to love to call the depot "Home Despot".

I come home from Lowe's on Kifer and keep driving by that place but have never been in. I still miss Orchard Supply.

You might also check for Ace Hardwares.  The Orchard Supply store near us got taken over by Ace.  They seem to be clean and copious in supplies.

Also check out "Outdoor Supply Hardware" in San Jose.

Ace is my go-to in my hood. It's in walking distance and excellent.

I don't really know Svale anymore...

They opened an Ace near us, on The Alameda. It's my go-to for little things, like screws, picture wire, foam brushes, etc. but they don't carry our apparently rare furnace filters.

236: We've undertaken an expedition to Mammoth Lakes to celebrate Tara's 21st. We got a lovely cabin at Tamarack Lodge and are staying in our bubble with Tara, her apartmentmate and her dog, who is Yuki's bff. It's lovely here - clear with a light amount of snow.

We'll be here until Wednesday and snow is forecasted, so we're thinking of staying an extra day. We're also hoping to stop by Lynch Lair for a night or two on the way home. Tioga Pass is closed, and we took the northern path to get here, which was a pain because many passes were closed (had to backtrack twice). We'll see. Playing by ear.

I still hate snow. And I still have to work. Tara and her friend are still in school but we got solid wifi here so we can still get it done. And the cabin here is superb. Stacy stocked up our food so we don't have to go to the store. The dogs are having a blast with their first snow experience.

I’m really happy that you all are getting some time together and time away from the regular life. Enjoy!
