E14 was good. This show has finally found its footing. The real Vice Admiral Janeway appears and is in hot pursuit of the Protostar. And she's got a huge starship. And Titania is one of her lead ensigns, a red shirt, but I would never have recognized her voice had I not known.

Major reveal about Jamila’s character - a total game changer. Now I get why she was cast in this role.
Dal’s bug revelation was somewhat meh. I don’t really care for his character and wish he’d just go away.

E16: Some back stories are revealed. The protostar is tucked into the neutral zone, working on repairs.
Then a major cliffhanger…
Still not loving this but enjoying it for what it is - fresh Trek. Mostly watching because I have access right now.

E17 - this begins with a holodeck story. I disdain holodeck stories. I mean, you’re in feckin space, right? Where no one has gone before? That hella more innerestin than a sim. But then it shifts to a major mcguffin, one I did not see coming at all. And it’s a photon bombshell. Ending is - yes - another cliffhanger.
We’re cancelling our Paramount+ again soon. This is all I’m watching on it and I can’t justify paying that much for just this. But I do hope I get to the end of this season. I got sucked in.

Nah, I’m not into that at all. I used to live westerns. I watched so many with my dad growing up. We watched one after he had his stroke and it wasn’t registering for him at all, and that was such a bummer that it put me off of the whole genre so I almost never watch them anymore.

Mine is giving me a curious look right now, as if I should be doing something for him instead of staring at my lIephone…

E18: the ol mind/body switcheroo between Dal (the punk kid) and admiral Janeway. It worked ok but the warp bubble phaser connect was too much of a stretch, even for me. And in the end, an even bigger cliffhanger.

E19 The penultimate s2 ep. It’s titled as a 2 parter but since every ep ends in a cliffhanger, that has no meaning. The ultimate plot behind the protostar to destroy starfleet is unleashed. A major character dies, just as he was on the brink of reformation. Titania shows her true colors in a space weapon cat fight on the bridge. The universal translator is taken offline to further confuse starfleet and that’s amusing because I didn’t realize they worked that way - I thought everyone just spoke common all the time but this implies that the UT is always at work.
Starfleet has a lot of ships. I’m sure there was some Easter eggs tucked in the fleet arrival but I wasn’t watching closely enough, not do I remember any starship numbers beyond the enterprise.

Season finale: Amazingly Prodigy stuck the landing. There was a self sacrificing death that was moving. The teens found there places with decent closure and there’s enough of an opening for another season. And it ended in SF, at Starfleet academy. Glad to see the Golden Gate Bridge survives to the 24th century.
Despite my early disdain for this show, it’s still Star Trek in the end, boldly going forward. This is still my least favorite ST series, but it’s better than a lot of other stuff.
Our p+ subscription ends next week, so this finale came out just in time.
