COVID-19
Injection arm is still a bit tender. It's a problem when you are a side sleeper and both shoulders hurt.

Christina just got an email from Kaiser saying that she falls into a medical category that makes her eligible for vaccination. They didn't specify why, and we're not sure. Her only condition is hypothyroid - hardly life threatening. Maybe because she had a parathyroid tumor removed years ago?

I think they just said “Hey! She is really cool. Let’s give her the vaccine!”

I do wonder if the selection is automatic, or if the primary care physician makes the call.

I was checking my Fresno Kaiser to change my appointment for the 2nd shot. I could get an appointment today in an hour if I wanted. Things are strange out here among the anti-vaxxers.

I had to reach out to my primary care physician at Kaiser. Stacy did too. I wouldn't have bothered had Greg not got in.

Isn't it too soon for your second, Greg? Don't you have to wait like 3 weeks?

My second shot is in April. But when I was online changing my appointment, the first time they offered for me was today.

That doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling about Kaiser.  Then again, this has been an overwhelming undertaking that got off on the wrong foot of a fool.

BTW, I stumbled upon news of an app called V-Safe, which allows you to report covid vaccine side-effects.  Apparently the CDC wants this info.  I don't recall being directed to it before, during, or after my shots.  Anyway, if I had known, I would have given them my input in real time.  I'm somewhat reluctant to go back and try to remember step-wise the side-effects I experienced.

If any of you want to jump on it, here's the article.

Can’t they just read that data off the chip?

I’ve been with Kaiser forever. It’s something good, sometimes great, but often lame. I feel like they’ve miffed this.

I think Kaiser on the whole is excellent - particularly compared to PAMF. Everyone is winging it on this one, plus the situation on the supply end seems to keep changing. Under the circumstances everyone is doing okay.

When I got my shot at Kaiser, I was very impressed, especially after seeing people in those very long lines. I was prepared to wait but I was in out quickly.

+1 on Kaiser. I think the problem was in getting the supply and getting the protocols from The Gubbenor. They were very efficient in getting the appointment set up and then getting the needle in my arm.

Every state has it’s own protocols, which is just a hoot, I’m sure.
