This looks like an advanced K-ripoff of that Ballerina. Nevertheless, I'll probably give it a view when it drops.
It's Onimusha that excites me. Mifune + Miike + jidaigeki + anime + sword fights = I'm all in. I think this is based on a videogame.
Quote:Ballerina’s Len Wiseman says he’s finished the director’s cut for the Ana de Armas-led John Wick spin-off.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Wiseman was asked about Ballerina, the upcoming John Wick spin-off he’s directing starring Knives Out’s Ana de Armas.
“We’re on a pause right now, but I’ve just finished the director’s cut,” Wiseman said. “Had an amazing shoot. It’s a really fun movie.”
Comparing Ballerina to de Armas’ role in 2021’s No Time to Die, Wiseman said, “That’s exactly what we’re going to do. You like her for 15 minutes? Well, you’ll love her for two hours!”
What do we know about Ballerina?
In April 2023, Lionsgate announced Ballerina will debut in theaters in June 2024. While not much is known about the plot at this time, the film is set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4 and sees de Armas play a highly skilled assassin named Rooney.
Ballerina’s script was written by Shay Hatten (Army of the Dead), while Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Keanu Reeves, and Chad Stahelski serve as producers. Reeves will reprise his role as John Wick in the film, while Gabriel Byrne, Lance Reddick, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, and Ian McShane also star.

It looks like they've streamlined it some from the book. Not surprising since it was over 500 pages. It was very good though, and I think won a Pulitzer or something. I'll watch it when it's on cable.
