Crap.

Wish you could stick it to the industry and go full maverick, arrange your own showings, build up a following on your own. Of course, the money and energy required would be prohibitive.  Still, if you ever went that route, I'd recommend specializing in unusual venues, and would vote for the following as the first -- maybe as a first official showing for DOOM and friends.  I'd be there in a jiffy.

In any regards, sorry the festival circuit (circus?) didn't work out (I'm still cursing Melbourne) and hoping you sell it and for a good price.

There does seem to be a lot of businesses out there now needing film product.

C'est La Vie

I am heartened by the response I've gotten on Facebook. There were a lot of likes, views, and sharing of the trailer. I was able to make a page for Vimeo pretty easily and it is ready to go.

Amazon Prime Video is proving a touch more problematic. They are very finicking about the art work sizes. And they have no room for the poster. They also want me to add closed-captioning so I am spending the day making that. Although it is a bit weird since have the picture is in Hungarian with subtitles. And there are a few spots where I put in subtitles for the people with the really thick Hungarian accents.

Onward Christian soldiers!

The end is near.

Amazon continues to be a pain in the ass. I spent a lot of time looking for a link to share on Facebook so people could buy it there. The trick is, we get more of the money off Vimeo than we do off Amazon. I'm putting it on Amazon because more people will see it there.

But yesterday, I noticed that Amazon did not accept my file for the film. After reading the fine print again, I realized they were serious about wanting the film in a certain codec. This new codec expands the file size from about 10 gigabytes to 119 gigabytes. I started uploading about 10am and it still wasn't done by the time I went to bed. When I woke at 4 this morning I got the oh so popular failed to upload notice. That was completely expected after the length of time it took to upload. So, I'm back uploading it now. It seems to be going a tad faster today. I'm also staying off that computer and working from the laptop so nothing interferes with the stream.

'Haggis' is hard to spell.  I always want to spell it 'haggus'.

Out of curiosity, how much does Vimeo/Amazon pay per download?  Patrick & I have been trying to get our videographer here at TC to do this for oh, maybe a decade now.

You set the price. You can rent or buy.

Vimeo 80/20
Amazon 50/50. I think you can also stream on Prime and you get.06 cents an hour.

It probably takes a minute to get your back catalog up on Vimeo.

I spend a lot of time throwing rocks at beehives.

I've spent the morning watching the progress bar for the upload move slowly across my screen. I'm hoping it is done by 5pm. I started at 4am.

you should switch to taunting yetis.  there's less of them and they don't sting.  just don't taunt them by throwing fencing masks at them.  that doesn't work.

Thank goodness! My computer was freed from the tyranny of the upload bar at 4:14pm. Now, it is up to the Amazon tyrants to accept my pale offering.

Happy Movie Release Day!

I promise not to spend all day staring at the Vimeo landing page to see if anybody has spent any money on the film. (So far $0 at 8:31)
