Distilled in 1940 and matured for 84 years, this expression stands as the oldest single malt ever released by the distillery. Housed in an innovative dual-chamber vessel, it also includes a 5-year-old whisky distilled in 2018, symbolizing the brand's journey from past to future. The presentation features a wooden sculpture crafted from American and European oak, adorned with 200 spikes representing each year of The Macallan's history.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Dark chocolate-coated ginger, sticky dates, leather, antique oak, and hints of coffee.
  
• Palate: Charred pineapple, baked peaches, crystallized ginger, aniseed, blackberry jam, woodsmoke, resin, and caramelized sugar.
  
• Finish: Extremely long with notes of dark chocolate and toasted oak.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Inspired by our 200-year milestone, The Macallan has

created a world where time ebbs and flows and nature

protects what is most precious, with spikes protecting

what is beautiful and fragile.

In TIME : SPACE, we explore The Macallan’s historic ties

with nature, encountering flora and fauna such as the

thistle, which is Scotland’s national emblem. We also see

the majestic Andalusian horses, linked to the cooperages

of Jerez, Spain, and the peacock, a symbol of natural

colour for the brand.

Our journey delves beneath the crystal-clear waters of a
river inspired by the River Spey, and ends with a dramatic
eclipse that reveals the TIME : SPACE vessel.
