Jason Moran with blank forms was space, like deep spac that never gets to Drumz, not even to a song.
Ben (my rider yesterday) got the works from Sista’s fried green tomatoes - plus fries and a lot of fried catfish. He got it to share and we feasted along with Dave (our controller, retired fireman).
The MJF opened up, like it does. Blowing my mind and every turn.
Student jam section’s 1st drummer was fire- this is 3 midwestern colleges all taking turns jumping into classic rhythms and jamming away. Super fun and energetic.
Samara Joy’s voice is truly incredible - she a big woman with big lungs and can hold a note through an immense number of permutations for a long single breath. Such control and precision.
Christian Pepin and the Orcquesta Bembe was poppin. Big dance crowd. High energy. Super fun.
We sat for a safety meeting of Slane, Dalwhinnie 15 and some Barrell rye, listening to the last acts. It started to cool off but we could still see stars and I wasn’t chilly in a light jacket.
Had two calls. Both etoh females. One was outside so 911 took it over and we just assisted.
The tule fog on the way home was intense - had to slow to 10 mph to see the lines. Not fun.
