I rather enjoyed that. It was a good ‘park your brain outside’ flick for a flight. The 2.5 hour running time was a bit much but there was enough visuals going on that kept me occupied. My Chromebook screen hide the cgi well enough and there were some great chase / moving siege moments like the original. Some scenes looked so panoramic but I couldn’t tell if they were real or cgi. I imagine this would’ve been fun in imax.
ATJ wasn’t working for me as Furiosa because her predecessor has my heart, but given that this was mostly action pieces, she didn’t have to do much but glare.
Thor wasn’t fooling me with the fake nose. Still Thor. Again, permissible because it was more about the action and the characters were cardboard. I liked his character’s ultimate fate.
The bullet farm was like a cherry orchard, only the fruit was bullets.
I’m enjoying the expanding Maxverse. It’s like the death metal version of the Badlands.
