To recap: They took a huge chunk out of Dani. She has netting over her torso to hold in her absorbent pad. She has a drain that leaks hence the absorbent pad. She has a line of staples on her back about ten inches long. The first day she was out of it, now she is in remarkably good spirits. We just took a short walk to the mailbox and she did very well.
But the absorbent pads are a problem. The vet gave us three 8" x 8" pads to last until next Tuesday. Not quite enough. Plus she keeps losing the pads or pulling them out. I've taken to cutting the pads into smaller squares to extend the amount we have. Still won't be enough.
We were going to buy some more pads at the grocery story but they weren't quite as big or as absorbent as the pads we have. But you know what is absorbent? Maxipads. You know what we bought? Maxipads. Yep, Dani is walking around with a maxi pad on her back. I stand by my decision.
