I was discussing The Batman with a Kung Fu classmate and the question was posed ‘what is your fav Batman flick?’ Well, I love the Adam West batman movie, but then I thought of this. My classmate is into anime so I recommended this and then realized that I didn’t remember what happened that well, so I revisited it just now.
It’s still awesome. I didn’t remember the plot because its absurd - turns out what I did remember was all about right. It remains visually stunning, spectacular use of anime, almost to the point of self parody, but that works well here.
I stand by my assertion that after West’s Batman, this is my favorite. It’s just so entertaining - a complex piece of eye candy that plays with Batman and ninja tropes for a perfect mash up to savor.
Totally D00M recommended even for those of you who don’t watch anime.
Seen on HBO mad, which has all the dceu animated films.
